Hey fellas,

Till now, makers of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa CHallenge 2005 have not experimented much with their constants. They've had Pancham round, J-L, ID and I guess they would have a HR and As round too. But most of the songs they sing are quite new. I think in the Agnipariksha they should experiment with a lot more stuff. Like:

1. A Duet Round: and check out different combinations of singers and see who is the best. Any suggestions on who would make a great duet pair?

2. They should have a classical/semiclassical round too. The contestants get to experiment with some Naushad/Shankar Jaikishen/Hemant Kumar/SD Burman/RD Burman/LP/AR Rahman composed classical/semi classical songs. Quite a few of them are classically trained and should be able to pull off such songs well.

3. They should get to experiment with Genres, such as a Ghazal round or even a Disco round(hehe). Other genres that could be experimented with are: Folk(there are some brilliant folk compositions by SD Burman, eg. "wahan kaun hai tera" ), patriotic.. etc..

4. Regional: This round should be fun. There are a lot of bengali contestants. Would be great to see what their take on "Rabindra Sangeet" is. Would love to see Hemachandra singing in Telugu.

Any further suggestions fellas???

i agree with all the rounds....
like you said....regional round should be fun....there are beautiful regional songs....
nowadays...every playback singer is singing in all the languages....
Udit Narayan sings more of telugu songs than hindi i think....and his telugu accent is worst...it even changes the meaning of words...
Shaan sang a couple of songs in telugu and both are too good...u dont know that Shaan sang them until u look it up...he just sang like a telugu guy....the clarity in words is good...
i would like Shaan also to sing a song in telugu as a kind of intro to that regional round(if ever there's going to be one)

There used to be a round where the contestant had to sing without music and another one where the song had to be sung from the tempo set by the musician.

Tempo round seems very interesting. Some years ago, they used to have a chord round, which i thought was too easy (though some real good singers messed up sometimes).

Talking about the regional round, i think it ain't a problem for the Delhi based singers as they can always sing in Punjabi (if punjabi is still considered as a regional language rather than some international dialect...lol). I think its fair, as some great singers have sung regional songs (Kishore Kumar, Rafi.. ).

But i think the duet round should be a good one. I would like to see the combination of Nihira and Vineet and Swananda and Hemachandra.

Interesting fact: Salil Chowdhury, being a bengali and doing music in Hindi and Bengali has been a hit music director in Kerala. He has some classic songs in Malayalam. Thats what i call, diversity and versatility.
