ALD: I've made up my mind, if I ever get stranded on an island, I'd rather have 5 of Ekta's infinite tv shows with me. I am sure I will be rescued long before I ever finish them.

ahaha, maybe ☺️ but I just watched one of his movies (Raman Raghav) and somehow although I loved the movie, direction, actors, it's too dark for me to watch when I'd be alone stranded

I can't decide Betty 😃 ..maybe it'd depend on my mood.. whenever I used to fall sick, I used to watch 'The Walk' because I love the energy of the movie, so maybe I will watch 'The Walk' for sure :)

I think I'd be looking for inspiration, sentiment and motivation so I think I'd watch these..

1- The Walk
2- Interstellar (to know that my loved ones are with me, perhaps in some dimension we may not be capable of perceiving, despite the dimension of time and space separating us!)
3- Dead Poet's Society (to never lose zest for life and make the most of my time)
4- Fences (for sentiment... Denzel Washington's character in the first half until he cheats reminds me of my dad, the way he banters back and forth with his wife and friends and a few character traits)
5- ALL Wong Kar Wai movies... to escape into the beauty of his movies <3
6- Into the Wild... cus, i'd be out there in the wild :p

..see, I have exceeded the limit of 5 :D

I've mentioned these movies depending on my mood now.. may not be a same list in the evening 😛 .

What about you, Betty? 😃

Excellent choices and lovely and thoughtful...

(I have to watch Interstellar, keep hearing such good things about it)

My choices are comedies that don't remind me of the harsh realities of life, or the reality that I am stuck on a deserted island...

Light hearted stuff I don't mind watching over and over again... Nothing thought provoking for me :-)

Miss Congeniality

Clueless (I make a movie list and not mention "Clueless", that's not going to happen)

Liar Liar

Maybe one dark movie like "Schindler's List" that reminds me of dark side of humanity, when I start missing it and feel lonely

One movie ( this is a must) with a hunk doing hunky stuff so I could watch a movie with a real man (non-PC to even say this)
So a Clint Eastwood movie from the 70s like "High plains drifter" where he does politically incorrect stuff before the feminist era

Honorable mentions(all comedies)

Weekend at bernies (only watched it once, so don't know how it will hold up during multiple viewings)

Gidget (beach movie, I might get tired of this bcz I will already be looking at the sea in an island)

Irreconcilable differences (very funny, mildly thought provoking and I think somewhat accurate description of HW marriages)

Thankyou for the detailed answers Betty, a balance of all types of movies.. 😃 and yes, watch Interstellar sometime, it's worth one watch IMO :)

LOL.. I like how you picked Schindler's List. and I've gotto watch Clueless soon! :D

I love Liar Liar too, I think I know almost all dialogues by-heart lol.

Hmm, politically incorrect stuff huh, I think I get what you mean.. :p I have no idea of High Plains Drifter and other movies, will look 'em up :)

I am rethinking my list already 😆

I can't believe I didn't mention "Legally Blonde", have watched it countless times

Another one is "The Fugitive", although it's not one of my absolute favorites, I think it's a perfect blend of action, suspense and drama but mostly action

Everytime I get a glimpse of it while channel surfing, end up watching the whole movie

And Clint Eastwood movie - maybe one of his Dollars trilogy

This thread might be active for a long time now 😆
