CHAPTER 11

"It's been more than two years since we are together, Arnav. When are we going to tell our parents?" asked Khushi folding her arms across her chest.

"Ah! You look all the more beautiful when you are angry" said Arnav not wanting the conversation it was headed to.

Khushi shrugged in disappointment. "When will you be serious, Arnav?" She turned her back at Arnav showing him she was very upset.

Arnav slowly walked to her and gently hugged her from behind. "Very soon, Khushi. Have a little more patience"

Khushi struggled in his arms to get free, but his hold was strong. Strong, yet gentle. He turned her to face him. Cupping her face in his hands, he looked into her eyes.

"Don't you trust me?"

"I do, but..."

Her words were absorbed into his mouth as he kissed her. It was a kiss full of passion, a kiss of trust, of their intense love for each other. It was a kiss that spoke of their want to be with each other. They stopped only to breathe. Khushi didn't open her eyes, her lips still parted, wanting for more. Arnav breathlessly stared at her tender lips which had turned red as an effect of his fierce invasion. He lifted Khushi into his arms and placed her on the sofa. Placing a series of kisses down her neck, he made Khushi gasp at his sweet assault. He pulled the strap of her dress off the shoulder and placed a couple of kisses on her shoulder in quick succession. Khushi gave in to his love, feeling every heavenly touch of his. She suddenly opened her eyes realising something. Placing her hand on Arnav's chest and gently pushing him away, she said, "Not before marriage... Please"

Her eyes were wet. She felt bad thinking that she had disappointed Arnav, but she had to stop him now. "I am sorry, Arnav..." she said in a trembling voice, still not out of the heavenly feeling she had a moment ago. "Arnav, I just... Please try to understand... I am.."

"Shhh" said Arnav placing a finger on Khushi's soft lips. "You don't have to say anything" he whispered placing the handing strap of her dress back on her shoulder. "But only until we get married" he winked with an evil smile.

Khushi giggled and hugged him feeling blessed to have found him.

"Nandkishor weds Lavanya!" Arnav read aloud. Turning to a happy NK, he winked and said, "Good that you didn't have NK' written there. I had almost forgotten your name was Nandkishor!" Everyone laughed heartily as both NK's hugged each other.

Lavanya joined them.

"Here comes the most beautiful bride!" said Khushi hugging Lavanya side-ways.

Arnav looked at Lavanya. She smiled.

"Happy?" he asked.

She went forward and hugged him. "Thank you so much for everything, Arnav. And I am sorry for..."

"Stop!... You will make me cry now!" said Arnav dramatically making everyone laugh.

As NK and Lavanya were taking "phere around the holy fire, Arnav observed how much Khushi wanted all this. It will be our turn soon! He smiled.

NK had invited all his close friends and their families to his home for a post-wedding party. After the dinner and loads of chatting, everyone gathered around in the hall to play 'Truth or Dare'. The kids urged their parents too to join the game. The parents had no choice but to agree. Arnav sat opposite to Khushi on purpose. Both were eagerly waiting for a chance to grill each other.

After a few fun-filled and amusing turns, the bottle head finally stopped pointing at Khushi.

"Dare!" she chose and Arnav's heart leaped in excitement. Everything was going just as he had wanted.

"Are you sure?" he asked teasing her.

"Ofcourse!"

"Think again... You might not be able to do this" he said with a smirk.

"You just say it!" said Khushi confidently, challenging Arnav.

It's time! Arnav exhaled to get rid of his nervousness. Closing his eyes for a moment, Arnav looked straight through Khushi's eyes. "Marry me!" he put forth the dare.

There was silence throughout the room. Everyone was surprised, some shocked. Some were happy for their dear friends. "It's a dare! You can't deny it, Khushi!" they teased. Khushi sat frozen at her place. The only sound she could hear was of her thudding heart. She was happy yet scared. Nervous. Embarrassed. Se gulped looking at her parents as her eyes filled with tears. They acted angry for a while but then gave in. Khushi couldn't believe they were happy. Why would they not be? They knew Arnav's Dad since years. The families were happy for their children.

"What are you looking at?" asked her father, Arnav's Dad too was smiling happily.

"It's a dare, you can't deny!" teased her mother.

Khushi looked at Arnav. "Happy now?" he asked.

Khushi just couldn't stop blushing.

Finally the day arrived when Arnav and Khushi were tied into the bond of marriage.

As Khushi was in the bedroom, Arnav quietly got in and got hold of her.

"Arnav!" exclaimed a surprised Khushi. "What are you doing?" she said shyly.

As Arnav was about to place a kiss on Khushi's cheek, his aunt and cousins entered the room.

"Ahem ahem, you can't get close until the pooja is done tomorrow" Arnav's aunt reminded him.

As his cousins pushed him out of the room, Khushi teased him making faces and showing her thumb.

"You just wait till tomorrow, Khushi. I will not spare you!" warned Arnav as he walked away cursing the custom.

Khushi blushed thinking of their first night.
