i think it's more important to see what the NDA did when they were in power, not what they say when they are trying to rake up opposition issues. just as example, i am sure they wld have signed the nuclear deal with the US if they were in power, with the congress opposing it. so much for principles, but that's another saga.
as for politics, it's there everywhere, isnt it? when you have a CEO/ leader, why will they brook any intereference and have folks undermine their strategy? gandhi's peaceful overtures to the brits wld have likely failed if he had not sidelined bose. cant exactly succeed running with the hare and hunting with the hound.
and yes, we've had a sorry list of national leaders. we cld always blame the nehrus and the gandhis for that, but the sad state is that the alternatives have not been better. today, we do have netas of every stripe, dont we? how capable wld they have been in facing up to uncertain times and threats after having inherited a mindset born in long slavery and servitude?
sure, we can have our indian idol in bose. but everytime a foreign leader comes visiting those samadhis, we'll have to always hide his axis connections. nothing to be very proud of there.
hmmm.....i never thought from this angle before. i mean i still respect Neta ji for all he did for the country and his sacrifices and i still think he was ignored just so that nehru can establish his dynasty but i do see where u r coming from 😊
as far as what bjp did or did not do when in power...well, they did not do many many things they promised to get in power in the first place. therefore, i wldn't hold bjp not doing anything to recognize neta ji when in power as a support for your arguement here.
politics is a dirty game and politcs is played at the whims and fancies of a handful in india. i blame nehru/gandhi for a lot of things that went wrong and that r still going wrong in our country and i blame them for forcing neta ji for going underground after independence as well.
as far as hiding Neta ji's axis connection...well, our politicians openly do and get away with so much shameful stuff day in and day out...whether it's asking for ghoos or playing the politics of religion.....i doubt their skin will get thin overnight and they will start sweating at Netaji's axis connection in front of foreign leaders. bhagwan ki daya sey kafi moti chamadee hai unkee. they had close ties with communist USSR and now trying to get buddy buddy with US ....u really think a long time ago japs connection of a freedom fighter will give them sleepless nights😉.
if u.s. hasn't nuked japan when it did...we may have seen a different ending to this whole saga. may be the strategy was faulty to begin with...or may be the timing was not right...whatever be the case...but his heart was in the right place. he did sacrifice his whole entire life for India and he did bring all indians together. even though i see your pov here, i still refuse to believe that he was ignored solely for his ties with the japs and the germans. there's definitely more to it than what meets the eye😊
