Tej Singh Oberoi threw the papers on Shivaay's face. He looked at his bade papa in shock.
"Because of your stupid mistake, and lack of interest our family business is at stake now. We have lost 100s of crores because of you. I'm sorry but I cannot let you handle the business anymore. That is why I've transferred all your shares and undertakings to my name. I'll be handling all your projects and work from today." His voice echoed in the halls of Oberoi Mansion.
"You have no idea what Shakti and Pinki did for you. What we did for you. Is this how you pay us back? Even though you were illegitimate we let you be a part of our family. Where you should have been left in the streets to earn your own living like your brother Mahi, you spent your life in the Oberoi Mansion."
Each word that came out of Tej's mouth hit Shivaay in the gut.
Shivaay stumbled backwards. Anika rushed forward and held him giving him support.
After all Shivaay had done for the business, how could he say this?
It was true that before Shivaay entered the business, it was already prospering. But Shivaay made it reach new heights.
He had prioritised the business over almost everything. Even his happiness. And just because of one mistake, he was kicked out from the business?
"I know I shouldn't be saying anything, Tej Uncle but you cannot insult Shivaay like this. If this whole family is enjoying all these luxuries right now, it's all because of Shivaay. It's the fruit of Shivaay's hard work too. A few years back, when your business doomed, it was Shivaay who gave you funds for starting this new family business." Anika said, trying to control her anger and tears.
"Anika. You have no right to say anything here. This is a family matter. Just stay out of it." Tej said dangerously.
Shivaay stepped forward and said firmly, "Don't you dare say anything against Anika, Bade Papa" His eyes bloodshot.
"Oh. So now you're threatening me. Really Shivaay. What will you do?" He asked now stepping closer to Shivaay.
"I can't stay in a house where people think that they've done a favour on me by giving me food and shelter. I can't live with people who can't respect me or my wife." Shivaay said clearly looking right into Tej's eyes.
"So you want to leave the house? If you'll leave this house Shivaay, you'll be doing us a huge favour. You'll be freeing us from your burden. So please do. You know your way out." Tej said calmly. It stunned everybody gathered in the hall but Shivaay stood there, taking all his might to not break down.
"And anyone who has a problem with Shivaay leaving, you can leave with Shivaay too. No one will stop you." He said looking at everyone warningly and stormed off.
Shivaay stood there stunned for a moment. He came out of his trance when Omkara and Rudra had pulled him into a hug.
"Shivaay, I won't stop you from leaving. Cause I know it's really hard to live with people who cannot respect you. But I'm coming with you Shivaay. I won't let you go alone."
"Yes bhaiya. Even I'll come with you." Rudra shook his head, completely in tears.
"Have you both gone mad?" Shivaay broke away from the hug. "None of you are coming with me. Get it?"
"But Shivaay."
"For my sake. Please OmRu." Shivaay held their faces, "I can't let you guys separate from your family because of me. Don't make it harder for me. Please." His voice cracked. And he hugged them tight.
With that he turned around and looked at Anika, she nodded and went towards him. He took her hand in his and held it tight.
Shivaay left the Oberoi Mansion without looking back.
Even though he had left everything behind, he decided to build a new life. A happy life. If he wanted, he could conquer the whole world because he had Anika by his side.
Note - Okay I know I shouldn't be starting a new SS when I don't know if I'll be able to update it regularly. But I couldn't help it. I haven't completed Solace yet but this is like a sequel to it. With the same backdrop. I will try to complete Solace first before continuing this one. Also, tell me your views about this. Hope you all like it. :)
