Bored. The five letter word described her current mood accurately. She yawned as she leaned back in the chair she was sitting on and closed her eyes contemplating about what she should do to get rid of her boredom.

Few minutes later her phone rang. Without opening her eyes she picked up her phone and answered, "Yes?"

"Nadia?" came a voice.

"Yes?" she repeated.

"I am boss's new secretary. Boss told me to inform you that because our other visual effects editor fell sick, you have to complete her assignment." Nadia perked up at that. Finally something to do.

"Okay. Tell me about it." For the next 30 minutes Nadia was briefed about the assignment that she had to start working on.

"Cool. I'll email you the final edits in two days, will that be okay?" Nadia asked.

"Yeah, that'll be fine. Thank you."

"Hhmm.." she ended the call and slowly a grin stretched across her lips and she cracked her knuckles, "Let's get started."

Nadia downloaded the needed files, happily opened Photoshop app on her laptop and started working. But her happiness was short lived as suddenly her laptop screen went black, "What the ****?!" she cursed. She tried to switch it on but it didn't. She tried connecting the charger but still the laptop wouldn't start.

"Aaarrrgghh! I haven't even saved the base edits as back up. Oh God! Now I will have to start from scratch once this thing starts working." She groaned and laid her head on the desk thinking about the technical error that caused her laptop to shut down.

"Hey Nadia! What's up?"

Nadia raised her head from the desk and looked around trying to find the source of the manly voice that sounded very familiar.

"Who are you looking for? We are here right in front of you. See." This time it was a woman's voice. Her gaze fell on her laptop screen which was no longer blank but what surprised her was the familiar faces of her favorite television show actors Namik and Nikita aka Shravan and Suman.

She stared at the screen dumbfounded, "W..h..a..t?"

Namik laughed at her expressions earning a slap on his arm from Nikita. "Sheesh! There's no need to be violent woman!"

Nikita glared at him and whispered something in his ear that was inaudible to Nadia. "What the hell is happening?" she said to herself and pressed different keys of the keyboard thinking she might have opened some video by fault or something but nothing worked.

"It won't work sweetie." Nadia felt perplexed and astonished. Did Nikita said that to her?

"You are talking to me?" she felt silly asking that question. Nikita chuckled at that and Namik replied, "Is there anybody else here apart from us? Of course we are talking to you silly." He smiled at her fondly.

"But how?" Nadia asked.

"Well we got someone to hack you computer." Namik stated.

"But why?"

"We will reveal the reason behind all this later but for now what you need to know is that within a few minutes another window will open on your laptop, a virtual maze to be precise. You have to play your way across it and reach your final destination to your files", Nikita explained.

"Okay. But that doesn't explain you guys doing this. And what are you doing this for?"

"No telling the reason, the purpose behind this but we are here to help. Actually you won't be able to cross this maze without our help." Told Namik.

"Really? Try me."

Just as Nikita had said, a virtual maze window opened up. Nadia tried to make her play character move but it wouldn't take even a single step ahead. Namik's laughter could be heard making Nadia to shift her gaze towards the first window.

"Like I said, you can't move without our help." Namik teased.

Nikita rolled her eyes at him and said, "What he means is that your character won't move unless and until you answer a few questions."

"Continue explaining."

"We will ask you a few questions about our show Ek Duje Ke Vaaste and our characters, a right answer will take you the right way but if you give a wrong answer, you will have to start from scratch."

"Fine. Bring it on", Nadia stretched her arms and cracked her knuckles, "I am ready."

"Cool. So here's the first question; Our favourite movie."

"Kaho na pyaar hai", answered Nadia.

"Move forward. Straight", said Namik.

"Shravan's favourite game?" asked Nikita.

"Chess", Nadia replied.

"Go left", Nikita said.

"What kind of car does Suman drive?" Namik asked.

"Ambassador", Smiled Nadia.

"Go right this time."

And this continued for the next 25 minutes. Nadia answered each and every question correctly, Shravan-Suman's first hug, their love confession etc. etc. And finally she crossed the maze but instead of her laptop switching on again as she was promised she saw a message icon appear. It was bouncing here and there.

"Open it. That's the reason behind all this madness." Said Namik.

Nadia's eyes followed the similar path moments of the message icon and clicked on it which opened up another window with a familiar background. "It looks kinda familiar." She thought.

"Hey."

"Hi!!"

"Hello."

"Hi ya!"

Multiple "Hi's" and "Hello's" were said as the faces of her friends from the crazy creative birthday team came into view along with Namik and Nikita's. "You guys? Now what is this about?"

"Well if our presence doesn't reveal anything then we have to continue this till the end. You really don't know why we are here?" asked Yuvika.

"Uumm...no." Nadia noticed that they all were moving around as they talked. Again the familiarity of the background bothered her.

"Seriously?" Ramya asked to which Nadia just shrugged.

"You don't remember what's the day today?" Maliha asked.

"Thursday."

"You forgetful girl! It's your birthday today!" Nadia literally fell off the chair as her friends along Namik and Nikita entered her room. Now this explains the "familiar background", they all were just outside her house.

Namik helped her stand up while Nikita bought the cake, "Now you know why we are here?" he grinned.

"Happy birthday sweetheart!" Nikita wished and kissed her cheek.

"Thank you guys. It wasn't necessary but I loved it. Thank you." Nadia smiled and cut the cake as everybody else sang the birthday song for her.

"Now can I finally have my laptop restarted? I have work to do." Said Nadia.

"Oh that", Yuvika typed something and the laptop was working once again. All the apps and windows that she had opened before the maze drama started were still open. "Best of luck for the assignment and happy birthday once again."

"Thank you."
