INTERTWINED FATES:
Chapter 1
"Kanak.. kanak.!!" A voice called, but kanak was too lost in her sweet sleep to notice.
"Kanak! This is the last time i am calling you. Don't test my patience or i will come and drag you down myself." The voice called again. This time a lot more angrier.
Even after the clear warning, kanak didnt care. Not even a few minutes later, kanak heard her door being opened followed by the lights and curtains.Kanak groaned with irritation with so much light invading her senses all of a sudden.
"What the hell, i was sleeping couldn't you freaking see... " kanak demanded. But as soon as she saw about who actually was the culprit, the words suddenly died and her throat went dry.
"Bh.. bha.. bb. Bhabho." Kanak was finally able to croak out the name. Her Bhabho. Glaring kanak down angrily. The sweetest person on earth when you are on her good side, but if you are not then... better to not finish that sentence.
"Bhabho, wh.." kanak cleared her throat and mustered up the courage to speak again. "Bhabho, what are you doing here and this early in the morning.?" Kanak asked.
"It is so early in the morning, isn't it.? beta ji." Her bahbho replied dryly. Sarcasm lacing her voice.
Kanak very discreetly looked at the clock at her bedside. Quarter past ten.! Sh!t! She cursed. She remembered how bhabho clearly reminded her to be ready by 8 am as they had to take care of some work in their shop kanak mishtan bhandar.. Her parents shop, kanak thought fondly.
For a second kanak had forgotten about bhabho being there, but quickly got out of her day dream when she heard bahbho clearing her throat. Still glaring.
"Bhabho, i am so so sorry, i know we have to finish a big order today and still i overslept. Sorry" kanak apologised, her hands on her ears and innocent expression on her face.
Bhabho's eyes softened immediately, seeing her chori apologising so sincerely.
"Hmm... ok, but only this once. Next time, see what I'll do.!" Bhabho said, anger now replaced with love for her grandkid. Leaving kanak to get ready and muttering about how todays kids are so careless and stubborn.
As soon as bhabho left, kanak chuckled to herself. "This is what happens all the time, i get up late and bhabho gets angry. But just one apology is what it takes to melt her anger away." Kanak thought to herself, looking fondly at her bhabho's retreating back.
With that thought and a smile on her face, kanak quickly left to get ready for the day ahead.
