This is a bizarre story but such is the world of bollywood. Usually we hear of actresses sleeping with directors to land a big role for themselves. But here is one actress who did it even when she didn't need to.
The story goes that she was head-over-heels in love with her then boyfriend. A big director signed her on for the most challenging film of her career and was wondering who to cast as the hero opposite her. And he couldn't cast a big star as that would steal the thunder from her as she is the soul and hero of the film. The director was unsure about casting his original choice (the actress' then boyfriend) because his debut film was a grand failure and the real-life couple didn't exhibit any sparks in the film.
She pleaded with the director for her beloved. The decent director who one hardly hears anything fishy about gave her an option. She had to jump into the casting couch with him if she wanted her boyfriend as her co-star. And the love-struck girl did it, all for love.
The couple is cordial with each other and still friends in spite of their four-year-old relationship biting the dust a long time ago. If the film salvages the new actor's unsuccessful career, then he owes his sweet, loving ex-gal a big favour. Someday he just might have to return it!
