Salman Khan, who is believed to charge Rs 4 crore per film, has gone all out to extend support to his friend and mentor, producer-director Saawan Kumar Tak — Sallu will play the lead in Tak's forthcoming film, Sawaan, absolutely free of cost. Earlier, Khan's was meant to be a special appearance; he has now extended his role and plays the main lead in the film.
New lease of life
"He has come back as a godman in my life," says Tak. I was drowning; he lifted me from deep waters. Salman gave the second hit of his life with Sanam Bewafa, for which I had signed him for Rs 4 lakh. Now, this generous man has returned my glory."

Salman, considered a thorough professional, is said to charge for whatever he does, even for cameo roles.
Sawaan, which had a market value of Rs 75 lakh in making, has now been sold for exuberant amount because Khan's in it — clearing all Tak's outstanding dues.
Khan was initially going to do an item song in the movie, and feature in the climax scenes, but the powerful script made Sallu extend his role by 55 minutes.
