Shivika OS - His Hair| Prompt: Alternate Dargah Meeting |
Note: No grammar or spell checks, sorry.
* * *Annika came face to face with Shivaay. Shivaay stared at her, swallowing in everything. They stood still as the world turned round and around them. It felt as though the world turned on its axis and slapped them across the face.
It was an odd feeling, she had not met him in three months, and yet why was she happy to see him, what right did she have to be happy to see his face? She eyed him from top to bottom. He's changed, he's moved on. Does he really no longer love her? He's hurt. Was that from the day before, was he in trouble? Was that what she sensed?
Shivaay was at awe. Could this be a dream, was Annika really standing before him? Fate is so cruel. This woman broke his heart, his soul. And where do they meet? At a place of God's residence. He eyed her from top to bottom. What was she wearing? That's not something you wear to come to pray. This was a dress. She is getting married. How cruel. Annika was getting married and he saw her in her bridal form. How could she have moved on in three months?
Annika could not help her reaction as she stared at his hair. What happened to the man who freaked over his hair having to be perfect? "What happened to you?" She asked incredulously in the heat of her reaction.
Shivaay tilted his head. That was not the reaction he expected from her. "What do you mean? I'm perfectly fine." Shivaay assumed she was referring to his wounds.
"Clearly. What happened to your hair? You look like some idiot rubbed haldi into your hair and now you look like a cartoon. Did you fall in haldi or something? I mean, I know before our wedding you used to fall a lot. I thought you had some slipping disease. So I was just asking."
"K- Kya?! H- Haldi? This isn't Haldi. It's hair colour, okay? Hair colour. The thing they use for hair dying." Shivaay baffled by Annika, began stuttering as he explained what was in his hair.
"Hair dye? But you should only need hair dye when your hair starts turning grey. I mean, I don't expect your hair to turn grey or anything. But no one just turns their hair into yellow. Really, who does that?" Annika pointed out, not understanding the logic behind his using the hair dye. What if Shivaay's hair was turning grey? No that's not possible.
"I do that, okay Annika. And besides, what do you care? What difference does it make to you?" Shivaay asked his ex-wife. Calling out to her, wanting her to say that she still loves him, misses him, and regrets everything she did.
Annika faltered for a moment. They were back at the same question again. How could she have the right to criticize him. What haq did she have to say anything. "I- I'm just saying. You look like a clown. Besides, like everyone else, I can say whatever I want. So it really doesn't make a difference but it is the humane thing to do by being honest. Not for m- my sake, but y- yours." Annika though of the best logic she could come up with. Did she make sense? Did he buy it?
"Really? You were being honest? Alright, so who wears a dress to the Dargah? And that to, black. In this heat, who wears a black dress to the Dargah?" Shivaay reciprocated her honesty. Why was she wearing bridal-type wear?
"Actually this is my friend, Chanda's, dress. I'm stalling time and waiting for her to talk to Amit- I mean the guy she likes." Annika said quickly, realizing she should have lied instead of telling the truth. He had moved on, she should have made it seem so too.
Shivaay thought for a moment. There was relief masked with worry. So she's not getting married? Well Annika doesn't have a reason to lie to him, does she? Annika doesn't care about him, she only loved him for his money. Realizing he needed to respond, he reacted. "That's weird, your playing pretend bride again. I guess you must love that. You certainly know how to play the part." Shivaay spoke, instantly regretting his words. Why did he say that? He wanted to hurt her, but he couldn't see her pain.
Annika was hurt. How could he say that? It's not like she wanted this. "That's a lot of hot air coming from someone with clown hair. Besides, whatever I do, I do for my family." Annika replied coldly, hinting to him her innocence in her crime.
A priest approached us. "This is not a place for talking. This is a Dargah. If you wish to talk, talk elsewhere."
"We aren't talking, we're fighting." Annika informed the priest.
"Fights happen where this is love, love is seen in this fight." The priest replied calmly.
"There is no relationship between us." Shivaay pointed out.
"We are separated." Annika added in.
The priest smiled. "But your hearts are not separated. You see that your relationship has ended, but not the string still keeping you together." The priest leaves with his words of wisdom reaching their ears.
Shivaay and Annika stare at each other. The world was spinning around them again. Not being able to deal with the truth any longer, they walked past each other. Crossing their paths.
* * *The End.
I hope you enjoyed that. I was just bored with my time so I made a Dargah Alternate moment. Hope you enjoyed it. Stay beautiful!
