Tubelight Takes Good Advance

Tubelight has a good advance but it won't be competing with the films which have taken the biggest advances as the first three days are all pre - Eid. The advance only started yesterday (Wednesday) at some multiplexes but even then the results are good and it will be the end of business today that it will be known where the advance stands among other films. Bahubali - The Conclusion sold an insane 32 crore nett worth of tickets and Sultan was 21 crore nett (5 day weekend) and Tubelight will not be competing with these films for sure. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) was 13 crore nett and Raees earlier this year was 12 crore nett (four day weekend). It could be in the range of these films and that would be great considering the Friday - Sunday period is all in pre Eid.

The trailer of the film is good but it is the first time after a long time that Salman Khan is coming in a social drama without that image of a macho hero. Bajrangi Bhaijaan was said to be different but it still portrayed a larger than life hero with the trailer signalling action, romance, music and comedy in the film while its not the case here. Bajrangi Bhaijaan was a lost and found film but presented a differently from the blockbusters of the 70's. Tubelight also looks a lost and found film with a backdrop of the 1962 India China war. It goes without saying that the lost and found films allow for strong emotions and if this is packaged with entertainment there will be no looking back for that film.

The pre Eid period and Salman Khan not in a hero image will come in the way of putting really huge numbers over the weekend but then there is a holiday period from Monday which can easily make up the ground and if the film is that good emotional entertainer then the first week will be huge.

Sohail Khan is the biggest panuti of all. Anything he touches turns into dust.
Even last time Salman was on a solid streak and then Jai Ho happened.
Same case here. The movie will probably achieve Super Hit status but won't go to block buster.

Pre Eid is slow as salman fans busy in ramzan so good advance is equivalent to bumper opening. They will run to theaters from Tuesday onwards.
