Would Dev Patel make it in Bollywood as a lead? I really doubt it since he looks like an average Indian with dark skin, not like other actors

An Oscar nomination good enough for ya for "making it in HW" ? This average Indian with dark skin got it just this year. Speaking of skin, you really should see the British show Skins in which he started his acting career.

Oh and in addition to an Oscar nom, he also has a BAFTA nom.

So you see unlike BW where nepotism rules, even a skinny desi average looking kid can make it if they have talent.

Maybe but it would have been tough ride. Aamir barely made it, Ranbir is faltering. There is prototype Bollywood audience look for. He doesn't fall into that mold. 😊

Nothing against his talent or looks. I personally would love to see him more on screen. ⭐️

I don't think so.. Not in a mainstream way at least. Maybe like Vikrant Massey/Vicky Kaushal zone.

Or if he can make his Hindi sound un-accented, then in the Irrfan Khan/Nawaz zone imo.

Perhaps, we don't know if he can pull off the "bollywood hero" thing.. If he can dance and project some glamorous "bollywood hero" persona, then he'd be a hit.
