@shahsb I am a person who believes you are responsible for your own actions. You can hide a crime from the eyes of the society, but you cannot hide it from you. Your actions will always one way or the other show the crime you have committed so that the punishment comes to you, as you cannot beat Newton's third law of motion, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Only thing is that one action will have multiple reactions good and bad and you have to bear the consequences of all those reactions. That's why it is said that let the action be in such a way so that the maximum reactions are good so net result is good. That's why all scriptures say in times of moral conflict listen to heart than the head.
Having said that yes it has to be shown that legal systems works. If people take punishments in their hands, then there is no need for the law in a country. I had expected Saanjh to show that the system does deliver justice as she is a lawyer. But then nothing is coming out as of now.

No one can actually beat "Ashwin" in being the lowest of all time, and followed by Maya, in my opinion.

Now, coming to all those who keep says, Maya deserves punishment, but let that be legal way, this is not the way, via Samay... We have already seen, how dumb legal system works in this show, so far Maya has been playing around with it, mocking it and fooling it... Just being punished legally won't suffice, she needs the dose, which I had always thought "Useless" Saanjh would give it, which hasn't happened... But definitely now, it's Samay, who is giving it to her... So, if no one, "Arjun" or "Maya" has right to decide punishment for offenders, except legal offices, but Maya has been doing it all the while, she has been punishing people on her own accord; Then why should one wait for Legal Action to be taken against Maya, why can't Samay decide some punishment for her...????
Interesting perspective! I do agree with certain points while I differ with some.
I think Ashwin, Maya and Samay all three are on equal footing as far as their 'Satanic actions' are considered. Ashwin tortured a young innocent girl psychologically as well as physically. Maya tried to kill her own mother twice, framed an innocent guy in a rape case, played a role in the death of a man and also caged her husband with her by threats of suicide(mental harassment). Samay on the other hand, killed an innocent man and was also an accomplice in framing the rape case. The only difference among the 3 I find is that Ashwin and Samay owned up to their actions. They acknowledged that they are evil and can go to any lengths to achieve their goals. But Maya, she always had some or the other excuse ready for her crimes. Other than that, I don't find any difference among the 3. So for me, all three are equally vile!Samay here isn't punishing Maya for her crimes. His actions are not even for revenge or justice. He is just resorting to blackmailing to fulfill his sexual desires. He is a hardened criminal and frankly I just cannot bring myself to support his method in trying to get Maya back in his life. Maya may or may not redeem herself in the end, but this incident isn't doing her any good(or making her realize her mistakes). Instead it is just gonna make her more determined than ever to get her revenge on Samay by resorting to more criminal ways.
@bold: this is one thing which irks me a lot n I feel like cursing the writers then...coz when she is framing someone in a fake rape case or trying to kill her mom then why keep her grey by making her confess to her mom that she keeps evidences so that someone can find it n help her? Such scenes then no longer evoke sympathy anymore ...in season 1 it did because she was still in limits...but the moment she decided to go overboard the CVS should have let her do that unabashedly like how ashwin used to do or samay is doing now...that would have helped in shaping up her character in a better way...this watered down version of Amy Dune is not interesting at all...this is the reason no matter how good Jennifer performs in those solo scenes ...it looks fake and fails to impress! Now coming to the poll ques...in my opinion both are equally heinous and cringe worthy...and I second what bugsbunny said..rape at times can be more difficult perhaps bcoz when someone dies the pain and agony ends right there...but it takes a lifetime for many to come out of something like rape...the physical scars may cease to exist after a point of time...but the mental scars remains forever...
