Hotel Kingston will close
Contract is due to expire; no new season for show as of now

It is official. Hotel Kingston, currently being aired on Star One, is going to close shop soon. The weekly one-hour show is now going to showcase its last few episodes.
Producer Amrit Sagar says he was aware of the approaching end: "Yes. It is true. But it is only because of the contract policy of the channel. We had a fifty-two episode contract with Star One which is getting over." Will there be another season? Sagar says, "We are looking at another run after some time." He is also quick to add that the show may close down permanently.
Recently, Hotel Kingston featured a gala episode. Why have such a big do during the final stages of the show? Sagar says, "It doesn't matter if the show is ending. We like to give the best to our viewers. Hotel Kingston has always retained its class."
The show, which revolves around the love story of lead characters Shelly and Vish, is set against the backdrop of a hotel. Shelly wants to preserve the hotel, a legacy handed down from her father. She and Vish also get involved in some mysteries surrounding the hotel.
As the show comes to an end, Sonal Sehgal aka Shelly Sahay of Kingston is looking at entering films. Sagar himself is engaged in a new directorial venture, a film called 1971 which explores the lives of prisoners of war and stars Manoj Bajpai among others.
Doesn't look like the cast and director of Hotel Kingston seriously believe the show is going to provide them boarding and lodging in a hurry…
