its not about arijit singh or any singer though singers are just a point in this discussion too i miss muhammad irfan he is underrated gem .. its about music itself altogether .. i am not liking new songs , i mean they are totally foot tapping , they make soulful music once in a while and if the tune is great the lyrics gets mediocre , i miss the bollywood era with good lyrics writer and good composer they comes up with quality vocals cant they make music like tujey dekha toh jana sanam , kuch kuch hota hai , kal ho na ho , dekhne walon ne kya kya nahi dekha hoga , tumko paya hai toh jase khoya hun , ankhon main tere ajab se adayen, Sajan , refugee songs , janeman songs, lucky no time for love songs, hey shona hey shona, etc many more songs used to be so sweet 🤢 any thought . was listening to tu mere girlfreind main tera boy freind na na na lol does this shit make any sense ...and most pathetic recently i got to hear was salman khan's tubelight song which was rendered by kamal khan i think . are these music directors working only to entertain current youth , did they really forgot to make classics

90's musics were bliss. I dont get bored even today, whereas today's music does sound repetitive except a very few songs.
Kailash Kher is missed badly. His songs had such amazing varieties and meanings.

kalash kher. shaan , sonu nigam, udit these voices are evergreen but the thing is today songs are not of their caliber that is why i would not recommend these veterans for today youthful party kind of tracks which dont have single traditional instrument dholak tabla kind of sounds are totally missing these days,, but i miss irfan he didnt got much chances he could have been on par with arijit singh

Not just the music but the films also. I am so sick of cheap masala sh!t. I mean hey, being sexy is fine but not every other actresses or actor has to show off their abs. 😆 But that is the formula that seems to work today.

If anything, I think if you want something good you have to search for it. It isn't always easy if you are not so entertained with everything that the majority of the audience likes.

YES! Recently, I've been addicted to baahubali 2 music, but otherwise I don't listen to any of the new songs. It's all so been there and done that. If I want to listen to indian music, I go completely old school, or listen to my past favorite albums on repeat. Really wish bollywood stops with this remake business and actually brings about some good melodious music with good lyrics.

Sorry for going off-topic, but not just the melody, even Akshay Kumar was so mindnumbingly handsome. So glad he is still out there entertaining us.

Kumar Sanu had a god-gifted voice. Some of his gems - Jab koi baat, Jab kisiki taraf, Dekha jo tumko (Kasoor), Ashiqui songs, Raju Bann Gaya songs. My God ! In fact in DLJH, Sanu's song was SO refreshing. 😆

Depends how you look at it, Arijit Singh is pretty much what Kumar Sanu was in the 90s, believe me when i say this in the 90s people said Kumar Sanu and Udit are nothing compared to Rafi saab and Kishore Kumar sir. This happens every gen soon someone 10-20 years from now will say that so and so is nothing compared to Arijit
Although back then there were more classic songs which you can still listen to and now there are only 2-3 songs a year which actually touch the heart

Same here. Sometimes the tune is forgettable but the lyrics are good and other times the tune is awesome but they lyrics🤢 I don't know why they cannot write good lyrics. How difficult can it be? I feel like punjabi songs have better lyrics(when I understand them) than Hindi ones. They are so fresh and on point and make you feel something rather than the bland lyrics in Hindi songs. It's a pathetic state.
