The Realization
Jayantika almost landed on her face when her feet finally touched the ground but Pranav's strong grip on her arm prevented her fall.
" Thanks," she muttered while taking in air to reacquaint herself with the nature she had left behind years back. The teleportation from her home was not a very enjoyable or a pleasant journey. Her eyes widened when she realized what she had just done.
Pranav and Atharv were waiting for her brace herself for the journey through the forest when she posed a question in front of them, " How could we teleport from my home? I am sure that there is no teleportation facility at my home, in fact the nearest one is at least 200 meters away from there."
" I guess that is one of the perks of being a part of Praudygischutz, Jayantika." Atharv smirked slightly at Pranav's answer while she nodded thoughtfully.
" Now we will have to walk by foot because teleportation here is banned for security reasons. And we will also have to blindfold you till we reach the headquarters. I am sorry but that is necessary," explained Pranav while totally expecting an outburst from Jayantika, who according to Atharv, is not an epitome of patience.
Jayantika shot him a questioning look and he could sense anger in her gaze. " I thought I was one of the candidates you were keen on making the next Digpalika and here I am being blindfolded so that I would be unaware of the location of your headquarters. That really explains a lot!"
Atharv looked positively offended while his senior managed to maintain a composed look. " It is for your own safety. We have had a history of traitors in our headquarters and if in any case your identity is revealed and you decide to not join us, you could be attacked by the other side so that you can reveal the location of the headquarters to them. Although I am assured that you will not betray us like that in any case, they may invade your mind. You can hold your shield easily against two if I am not wrong but more than that would be difficult for any of us. We don't want to threaten your life and hence this, Jayantika. Be assured that we trust you, not just because Swaha chose you but also because we know you enough that you are incapable of doing such a heinous thing."
Jayantika seemed to be satisfied by Pranav's explanation and sighed deeply, wondering how her life had changed in the past one hour.
" Shall we start then?" questioned Atharv looking at Jayantika lost in deep thought.
" Are you sure that I will not fall down while walking blindfolded?"
Atharv chuckled at her question. " You won't. The road tends to clear up for any of the members of Schtuz and I will guide you myself so be assured that you will not fall."
Jayantika nodded with a slightly confused look on her face as she waited for them to run a program to blindfold her.
" Dribanden!" Jayantika could hear Atharv muttering it as he latched her arm with his, to guide her way through the dense forest. Jayantika chose to utilize the free time she had to think about her possible future.
Would she be giving false hope to people if she decides to be the next Digpalika? What if she just dies and takes many along with her due to her one decision? She knew that although she might have been one of the better students during her time, she was never the best of her batch. The realization managed to pique her interest to know why they were keen on choosing her.
While Jayantika was questioning her own abilities, Pranav was hoping that she would accept the position offered to her. She was their only option for years and if she declined it, which was still a likely option, they would be shattered. She was just the kind of person they required but the heart beating in him couldn't help but feel pity for the young lady walking behind him. The path of victory was not easy, especially for the Digpalika and he was unsure if he could let Swaha's niece endure so much. The experienced part of him contradicted that it was a war, as it was since years and wars sought after everything people held dear.
The reverie of thoughts cleared out when he found the wall embedding the security system appeared in front of him. Half heartedly and solemnly, Pranav imprinted drew the password pattern and muttered the password, taken off from the woman who had grown closer to him than his own late parents,
" Swaaha..."
The wall turned penetrable after the authentication process and the two men and the woman moved towards the other side of the penetrable wall.
Jayantika stumbled at the entrance only to be steadied by a cautious Atharv, who signed to Pranav, who nodded curtly in answer.
" Vikasugen!" Pranav's command was efficiently implemented as the victim of its counter slowly regained her sense of vision. Atharv, with impeccable control over his electromagnetic pull, pulled a chair for Jayantika to be seated and get accustomed to her newly regained sense of vision and her surroundings before they could go ahead with their discussion.
A pair of wobbly legs made their way towards Jayantika who was being helped by Atharv to be seated in the chair he had pulled for her. Pranav's eyes widened, realizing that the meet between the owner of the tiny and wobbly legs couldn't meet the next Digpalika just yet. He tried to convey his message to the child who continued to make its way towards the seated damsel, ignoring the message which she received.
The sight of a familiar warm hazel eyes greeted the hazel dazed orbs of Jayantika, who felt a pang of affection towards the adorable child eyeing her with innocence and something which closely resembled admiration. Before Jayantika could voice her question about the identity of the child who admired her, the girl grabbed her opportunity to speak,
" DIDI! You finally came to meet me!"
