Nagiin's prank on Aastha

Sayantani Ghosh, who is the lead in Nagiin, played a prank on Aastha of Baabul Ka Aangan Chhoote Na for the show Champion Chaalbaaz No.1.

About the prank, Sayantani says, "I was supposed to go on Aastha's sets and tell her that I have received a call from her production house saying they are not happy with her work so I am going to replace her since this is a very big show. Before me, a production guy was going break this news to her so I called her and told her that."

Sayantani then entered Aastha's sets and on the microphone she was being instructed what to say. "I did that and after listening to me she kept on crying. It is her first show which has not yet come on air so she was scared. If it would have happened with any known face it would have been a different thing but since she is new she could not bear it," says Sayantani.

Even after revealing that it was a prank, Aastha could not believe it and just could not stop herself from crying. "I also felt bad for her and apologized. After that she was hiding her face from the camera. In fact, I requested the production house many times to stop the prank but they carried on for a while longer. However, in the end, she was happy to hear that she was not removed from the show."

The whole prank took place in the make up van so no one was there except Sayantani and Aastha. "I can completely understand her situation. She is very nice and did not say anything to me. I would not like to play such a prank again on anyone. In this case I had to do it. May be if the prank was played on me even I would have reacted similarly," comments the actress.

The episode featuring this prank is coming on air Saturday, 10 pm. Before Sayantani, Narayani and Usha Utthap had also played pranks for this show.

Prankster Shayantani replaces
Aastha in Babul...

It's raining pranks on Champion Chaalbaaz No.1 and even the celebs are cashing on big time. After Narayani Shastri and Usha Uthup, it was the turn of Shayantani Ghosh to turn into a prankster. At the receiving end was debutant actor Aastha Chaudhary, the lead protagonist of Sony's new show Babul ka Aangann Chootey Na.

Here's how the prank unfolded. Unimpressed by her performance, director Maqbool Khan lashed out at Aastha leaving the girl in tears. Few minutes later, Shayantani walks in to the sets and tells Aastha that she's being replaced by her for the show. The loss of her job was too hard to take and Aastha sobbed inconsolably. Worse, the 22-year-old didn't stop crying even after the ice was broken.

What's surprising about this prank is that Shayantani had never met Aastha before. So, what prompted her to play a prank on an unknown person? Shayantani says, "We aren't friends and it's the first time that I got to know her. Actually, I got a call from the production house of Champion Chaalbaaz No.1 and they wanted me to be part of a prank. Upon my arrival there, I told her that people are not happy with her acting so I'll be replacing her. Poor girl, she just didn't stop crying. I really felt bad for her."

The victim Aastha says, "As a young actor, that's the worst feeling anyone could go through – being sacked even before your first show is on air. Earlier, I was stunned by my director's behaviour, who normally is a very calm person. He tore the script and threw it on my face. I broke down at that moment. It only got worse when Shayantani stepped in. To add insult to injury, no one came to console me."
