R- what difficulty she will face ,she is working in our kitchen since long .
Raman teased her while she glared blushing hard ,Raman got happy getting his old cheeku back and followed her .She took a big pan and put milk in it and set on gas stove to boil ,then she added water, tea leaves ,sugar and ginger .After tea she went to fridge and took out the cottage cheese to make paneer pahora as she knows very well that pander is always there in bhalla house as all like it a lot ,She then started making paste of gram flour to make pakora's when suddenly she realised that raman is not helping her rather he is just standing in the corner and looking at her ,folding his hands to his chest .She glared him again and spoke " as far as I know mummyji has send you here to help me ,not only to stand and ogle at me ."
R(smiling )- I m beholding my sweet caring ,chirpy cheeku's image in my eyes as I m seeing her back in this awtaar after so many days .
Then he walked to her and asked cupping her face ," now you are happy na ".
Ishita nodded and said " and contended too ,ab jyaada bolo mat ,move from front either all my fritters will kindle ".
Raman smiled and moved aside ,she immediately completed her work and spoke " I m done at least now you can help me in serving this "
R- why not sweety .
Saying so he took the tray and went out ,ishita followed him with the tray of tea .Raman kept the tray and spoke " ma taste and say how it is as I had made this ".
Ishita heard this and spoke " mummy he is lying ,I made it ,he didn't helped me a bit ."
All laughed listening to this while ishita felt shy and ran to kitchen back . Parents had a light chit chat and talks about the invitations and preparation . After that all dispersed to their house ,soon everybody retired to their rooms ,ishita was laying in her bed when she received his call ,she picked the phone and before she speak ,he asked " cheeku you are now happy na ".
I- humm .
R- now you will never doubt on my love na .
I- never .
R- that's like my girl .
Like this they talked for much time and then slept almost in morning .Ishita was still sleeping when she heard " utt chutku how much you are sleeping ".
Ishita thought its dream ,she stirred a bit and then slept again when vandu shook her vigorously and spoke " get up my princess ,today is you big day ".
Listening to her akka's voice Ishita woke in jiffy and asked hugging her " akka when did you come "
V- just coming ,you tell what's this engagement and all haan ,yaar chutku tu to badi chupi rustom nikli, here I don't have courage to talk to appa and amma till now and you people went till engagement, good going sweety .
Ishita's face fell listening to this , noticing her sad face vandu asked the matter ,ishita narrated everything to vandu ,she being scared of the consequences ,hided Ishita in her and spoke " I m so sorry ishu ,I didn't know this ,I was just teasing you. "
I- its ok akka ,now I m ok with support of Rams and our parents but still sometimes I get scared .
V- its actually too scary ,thank you so much murugan for saving my lil innocent sister .
Sister talked for some more time and then both left for freshening .The day passed in jiffy in between all the preparations. After talking to ishita and raman their parents thought that its a very big day of their kids life ,they can't ruin it by organizing it as small function. Thinking so their father booked the community hall of society and then invited all the society members and nearest friends and relative .
It was evening ishra were getting ready for their big day in their engagement dresses which they had chosen together .Ishita got ready in her nevy blue ad cream color lahenga while Raman too got ready in his nevy blue sherwani .They were expecting a small family function but got amazed to see the huge function ,Raman was first to arrive with his mother and mihir while Mr bhalla was already in function .He called all of them in stage ,then ishita walked in with amma and vandu ,Mr iyer called them on stage ,they also walked there .Raman walked towards the stairs and helped them to climb the stairs , atfirst ishita went on stage then amma then vandu .After calling both family on stage Mr bhalla announced " my dear friends and family members can I have your attention please .you all must be knowing the reason of this party but again I want to tell you all .Yeah friends I happily invite you on engagement ceremony of my elder son Raman with Mr iyer's younger daughter ishita iyer."
Listening to this guests started whispering when Mr bhalla clear the air " o know you must be wondering that these two are two young for marriage thing but its not their but our decision me and toshiji like ishita puttar a lot like wise Mr iyer and his wife like Raman a lot and we don't want to loose them that's why we are doing their engagement but marriage will happen when they will established in their carrier ,so friends I request you all not to assume anything but just enjoy the engagement and bless the beautiful couple ."
Listening to this all the whispering stopped ,Mr bhalla signalled panditji to start the ritual ,he started chanting mantras and soon instructed ishra to exchange the rings . Raman slipped the ring in ishita's ring finger ,she smiled happily between tears .He signalled her to make him wear his ring, she did same and soon their engagement was done .
All were enjoying ishra engagement party,some were happy for them ,some were asking questions to their parents of this sudden engagement while ishita was sitting in a corner with a dull face , Raman saw this and went to her ,taking her favorite flavored ice cream with him .He settled beside her and asked
" hey cheeku ab kya hua ,ab to engagement bhi ho gayi ".
I(sadly)- engagement is over now you have to go to college ,leaving me .
R- haan to it was decided earlier na .
I- lekin main to aapko miss kar sakti hoon na ,won't you miss me .
R(pinching her nose)- of course I will miss you ,but we have to do it ,we had promised our parents na .
I- wo to hai .
R- then cheer up and give me my cheeku smile ,big wali .
Ishita saw him and smiled weakly . Raman laughed and spoke " is this my cheeku wali smile itni gandi,itni fake ".
I- (sadly )- humm.
R- aww my baby .
Ishita saw him with a sad pout while he pinched her nose and spoke " ishita we had promised our parents and now we have to prove ourself and make them proud as they fulfilled our illegitimate demand ,so don't be sad rather you start practicing living away from me ,as enough of masti and from now onwards I will concentrate only on my studies and carrier. "
I- and me .
R- now you are a part of me cheeku listen now we are not kids but grown person and had stepped in a relationship .now you too have to grow up and think above me .cheeku I m yours and will always be yours ,ab to tujhe license bhi mil gaya hai ,so from now you will also concentrate on your studies and make uncle and aunty proud ,got that .
Ishita nodded like a obedient kid while this was noticed by their parents .They saw each other happily while their eyes were moist as they were feeling proud of ishra .
