I don't have time for a detailed post on Friday's epi, want to write generally about the Grans in this show.
Y'day Nani ruled and how! I could see traces of Shaurie's dramatics and opportunism in her.đ
I know it's the other way, but we knew him before.
Though I would've loved to see Mama returning this lady is doing well, as she turns the sweet,old,weak Grans of iTV on their heads.I've seen other horrible Grans too on TV.
She is a self confessed witch and she is proud of being selfish.And she wants the money her grandson makes (whom she has forsaken as a boy).
She steals,drinks and assaults people physically when there was no need.And she's a home-wrecker.
Her wicked smile after ousting Swetlana was worth a watch.We know from where Shaurie gets the enchanting smile he smiles before doing something sinister.
And we've PD from the opposite spectrum, nice,wise Gran, who holds her family together and puts the errant ones in place and guides&counsels her family in times of their emotional needs.
She openly fantasizes about a movie star of her generation and he has the prime place among the portraits.
There was Nanz, once upon a time, who asked her grandson, what kinda kiss he wanted and blessed/cursed him to have a kulfi eating wife.
We've to make peace that she'll never return.
She helped to humanise the otherwise devilish Khanna for teh short time she was in the show.She was pampered and like PD held her family together.
In most shows Dadis and Nanis are used to extract promises on death bed or impose some will on unwilling leads thr' emotional blackmails,our show is different,
the Grans here are their own women, they're not waiting to die.They are living their own lifes.
Our Nasty Nani has proven, she will sacrifice her grandson and wreck his life to get richer.
Not nice, but interesting!
want to congratulate our Cvs in coming up quirky Grans!đ the old girls here rock!
P.S- Doesn't mean I want to see more of Nasty Nani.Let her be gone with the twist.
