I think ranveer liked her but she just made fun of him due to his get up and glasses. probably mocked him and his love. and that's why she's now realised he was a good guy and it was a mistake to mock his love/feelings.

the fb proves he was simply attracted to her...and the way sonali was getting him to recognise her it seems they never actually dated. he may just have liked her and proposed to her and she simply mocked his love and that left him hurt.

Now it should be Vice Versa... She loves him and he should snap at her...
