When Maya tried or pretended to be a good bahu, it looked like a genuine effort on her part.

These incidents make Maya to be a victim at certain points inspite of trying her best to be a good and normal person.

Maya is not only insecure with sanjh but any female around arjun.That is why all the females in his office wanted to resign.Even they know maya wont spare them.

Saanjh she did try to accept, but she was always insecure of her and Arjuns friendship. Only a little mistake needed to be made for Maya to break Arjun and Saanjhs friendship. And the I love you for Arjun and a almost kiss between them was no little mistake.

We know that she really did try with both of them because she spoke to Ganesh alone, when she didn't need to pretend for anyone.

What she did was wrong. No doubt about it. This doesn't justify it, but she she had her own reason which made her to bad thing. And I would also like to point that we already know and accept that Maya isn't like or behave like an average Joe so let's not compare her actions to others.
