You have said everything that i keep feeling again and again especially when i go back and watch old episodes. It's a jarring note ( showing no regret from Shivaay's side) that doesn't allow me to fully enjoy the show.

And i fear that we might never get to see that regret... As it was clear ( when Anika bought up the past jokingly) that Shivaay just doesn't want to rmber the past. He wants to have partial amnesia when it comes to how he has treated Anika in the past...Wants to just brush it under the carpet...Pretend it never happened..

Well, Shivaay pretending is one thing ..But want worries me more is the CVs pretending!! During "Anika meri biwi hai" they showed the marriage flashbacks like it was a very normal marriage... FHAT the WUCK man...She is crying when he puts the sindoor, the holds her hand and forces her to put the garland around his neck...

We had pinned our hopes on Priveer wedding making him realise how badly he treated Anika...But Priveer has just vanished without Shivaay feeling any twinge of regret.

But i hope that one day he will face the past...Like how he is facing NKK now. I don't think the regret will come in this NKK track..Maybe something else... Like pinky is the trigger for him facing the NKK demon, maybe something else will be the trigger for his regret.
I hope and i hope i am not hoping in vain!!! 😛

Do you remember the torturous weeks of the forced marriage? The two weeks when a few members of the forum watched the show, while the rest of us only read written updates? We waited with baited breaths that the misunderstanding would be cleared and Shivaay would regret his actions.

But all we got was a Sorry' and everything was forgiven.

This sorry was not for the forced marriage. He said sorry for his ONS misunderstanding, for not trusting her , for judging her character. He says " mana galti ho gayi, phir se nahin hogi" it's clearly about the misunderstanding. The phir se nahin hogi is going to be tested now. If the spoilers about pinky trying to bring Mahi between Shivika is true.

I really liked the one scene where Annika reminds Shivaay of the past as a joke and he tells her to talk about anything but the past as if he couldnt bear to think about it.

You will be wondering why all of a sudden I made this post. Well, there were a few things I was hoping the cvs put a light on when they showed Annika's past

1) Remember, in the early days how Shivaay had taunted Annika of the khoon khandaan thingy? Not once but a number of times. It has just been revealed to Shivaay that Annika was an orphan with no family except him and Saahil.

I was hoping for a scene with SSO in the dark and flashbacks of the scenes where he taunted Annika with Khoon Khandaan. With fists clenched and tears of regret in his eyes, he would remember her telling him how hard it is for a child who doesn't have parents. He would shed tears, not for the lack of NKK but for the girl who has faced so much in life and for his own harsh words and the belated realization of how much they would have hurt her.

2) He just realized that Saahil isn't related to her by blood. The amount of love and sacrifice this girl has done for a brother who isn't even her blood relative should have been touching. A flashback of the marriage scene where the car blew up wouldn't have been amiss. Do you remember when she told Ranveer about the one night stand with Shivaay to save him? Shivaay couldn't take his eyes off her- She earned his love and respect that day. I wanted to see the same glint of love struck admiration in his eyes as he watched Saahil and Annika in a new light.

Oh. ...Please please please show this. Anika is the epitome of selfless love and would love it if they showed Shivaay being awestruck by the amount of love his Anika is able to give.. despite never receiving much love from others.

3) He could try to find out more about her life, the struggles that she had to face and the things she had to put up with and probably hug her when he heard about her struggles or just get angry when she told about tortures that Sundari Bua inflicted on her.

4) Annika once screamed mujhe mat maaro in her nightmare. They could show the repeat of the nightmare and she says the same lines- so they could throw some light on that aspect of her past as well.

I know, I know the track isn't over and they can show all this and more and I kept telling myself that they might be saving the track where he remembers his actions and regrets them for another track (I had hoped we would have gotten to see all this during hospital coma track which never happened).

And I hope and hope and the track never happens. It is always that Shivaay's troubles get all the attention while Annika's are just brushed off.

I'm not saying, I want SSO to go on his knees and grovel. That aint in his character but a silent regret session where he remembers every wrong thing he did and every harsh word said and just gives her a silent hug or just stares at her while she sleeps would be a treat to watch .

EDITED

Sometimes you can spend years with someone and still not know the essence of that persons character and sometimes, in one moment, you have the years worth of knowledge all at once. THIS IS THAT TIME FOR SHIVAAY.

Suddenly he knows where Annika is coming from. Her being all alone in this world and yet she having all those qualities that he admired- her honesty, her innocence, her independence, her fortitude and more importantly her unconditional love.

If Ranveer had forcibly married Prinku, he would have gone to his door-guns blazing. He should know, that Annika never had anyone to fight her battles (and that was the reason he got away with treating her the way he did, because the only person who cared that she was ill treated was an eight year old.)

And he knows that now

I loved your entire post! Have read it several times since you posted it yesterday. Wish the cvs also read this

Very very well put, someone should tweet this to the writers! Yesterday when Shivaay left the Puja I did prepare myself to see a good introspection scene with some flashbacks, however the dark room scene was cut short and there was hardly anything to it, which to me felt kinda disappointing. They dealt with the whole thing in just one episode and I'm still hoping there's more to it, since the track is not over yet.

What I feel is since the writers keep throwing us small reminders about how Shivaay behaved with Annika in the past - like that small scene in the jungle hut where Annika asked if he was sorry for all that he had done in the past, or the one in the poolside where she jokingly reminded him that she knew very well how mean SSO could be if he took his mind and heart to it because she very well remembered every bad thing he had ever done to her - these make me think they still plan to show his guilt someday.

Also right now, Shivaay is still acting out reflexively when it comes to standing by her or protecting her, he hasn't given anything a good thought so far - not NKK, not his past with Annika nor their relationship for that matter, so maybe there's still hope.

@bold: You spoke my mind there! For me, more than a mere sorry his realisation of guilt is much more important. He may not say anything to her but I want him to atleast think about his deeds and repent. She deserves it, not only because she's a good person and his wife but more so coz he loves her now.
