Alia Bhatt is Karan Johar's favourite student
and there is absolutely no doubt about that.
So it doesn't really come as a surprise that
Karan will be producing Alia's next. Yes, the
actress has been roped in as the leading
lady in a Meghna Gulzar film which is going
to be produced by Karan Johar, as per
reports in DNA. For those who don't know,
Meghna Gulzar's upcoming movie is based
on Harinder S. Sikka's novel Calling Sehmat.'
If reports are to be believed, Ms Bhatt will be
seen playing the role of a spy of the early
1970s in the movie. The film is an
espionage-thriller, revolving around the life
of a Kashmiri girl who is married to a
Pakistani army officer. We hear that the
shoot will begin in July. (ALSO READ: After

There were rumours that Alia wasn't too
keen on doing this film when she heard the
script for the first time. However, Karan has
somehow managed to convince her. Also,
while the actress hasn't given any
confirmation on doing the film yet, now that
Karan will be producing the film, we don't
think she would have second thoughts
about playing the role.
In other news, Alia, who delivered three
back-to-back hits last year with Kapoor &
Sons, Udta Punjab and Dear Zindagi, is
chilling as for now. Her next film, Dragon, is
with Ranbir Kapoor and will go on floors
only in September. So now that she has got
a lot of free time, she is spending enough
time partying and chilling with her friends.
Just last week we spotted her at the airport
as she was heading for a mini vacation with
her bestie, Akanksha Ranjan.
