Karan Mehra aka Vedant of Virrudh is concentrating on his first commercial English play Daddy Kool now that he has finished shooting for Virrudh which is going off air. He will be seen in a geeky role in a play is directed by Tanaz Currim.
About the play, Karan tells us, "I play a role of a geek who later on turns hero. It was difficult for me to read and understand the script the first time it was handed over to me. Further, my character Buddy did not reflect immediately the moment I was reading the script. Tanaaz wanted to kick me out the first day itself but I insisted and pleaded her to give me one day's time. I got a copy of the script and remembered my dialogues. She was pleased with the performance the following day."
The play will be staged in Mumbai on Jan 21.
Asked about his future plans, he says, "Right now I am concentrating on plays. There are offers from other production houses so let's see."
About Virrudh going off air, he comments, "It's very shocking. It was a nice experience working with such brilliant actors like Vikram Gokhale, Smriti Irani, Sushant Singh, Achint Kaur and many others. I had messaged Smriti asking why they are wrapping up of the show. But she told me not to worry and that we will work together in the future."
Karan Mehra has done couple of serials like Betiyaan Apni Ya Paraya Dhan but it was his role in Virrudh that was highly appreciated.
