But again bringing Devakshi doesn't make sense as the problem was mainly Dev-Ishwari's closeness and Dev's inability to stand up for his wife and keep her respect in his house. Sonakshi was disrespected by every member of his family right in front of him everyday and he chose to ignore it. He failed as a husband and looks like there is absolutely no hope for him to grow even in season 2.

It was a comment which said "this remembrance of wedding moments would bring Devakshi closer" which made me write this. But you are right, its natural to remember such things when something similar goes in front of you. 😳
