I don't mind Akshay winning.
The problem lies elsewhere. If you're going to favor someone, at least pretend to be fair and make it less obvious. Akshay winning for Airlift would have received less criticism. Rustom was such a poor movie. Akshay was good - not great, or award-winning. With Airlift, you could at least build a case. What were the thinking when they decided to award him for Rustom?

It's a shame that Akshay's biggest moment of his career seems to be marred with controversy. I have to blame Priyadarshan's blatant way of handling this. If he'd just used some sense, there wouldn't be such an issue.

On the positive, at least - it's better than watching Amitabh Bachchan walk away with awards. No disrespect. I feel he's brilliant. It just gets tiring that he almost always wins Best Actor awards here and there. Media just love him.

I do believe that Indian award system as well as film industry is too blatant with such blessedness and prejudice. People have their preferences. Indian media, award functions, Bollywood, etc. just don't bother "hiding" it.

Why can't they just train themselves with better excuses before taking such decisions? Don't they know they have to explain their choices at one point of time? 😆
