She ruined Veer Zara songs. Yash Chopra should have given her one song, as a mark of respect and given rest of the songs to other female singers like Shreya.

Wonder why Lata M did not refuse it herself.

i think lata voice in do pal ruka and tere leya hum hain jeeye no one else could have rendered these two songs better than her or perhaps i can only imagine anuradha paudwal doing these too as anuradha have sang many lata mangeshkar songs cover and she sound cool ...shreya wasnt mature in early 2000 to be able to do justice to these legendary compositions of madan mohan

I liked her vocals in this film. The compositions were by Madan Mohan, hence Lata's voice added that retro touch.

Alka hasn't done songs with that classic retro touch, so I'm not sure if she would have been any good in Veer Zaara. I think the film needed a retro iconic voice, which Lata has.

Last song from Lata ...

Jeena Kya Hai, Jaana Maine from Dunno Y2... Life is a Moment(2015). She had sung this song after a gap of about 4 years after singing Tere Hasne se... from Satrangee Parachute in 2011.

May be ..I always love Alka's sweet voice though so feel she could have..at least in DDLJ and DTPH I badly wished Alka sand as both were modern love stories of that time
