Shahid edges out Kareena
Post their public break up, ex lovers Shahid and Kareena's careers have taken a turn for the better. But looking at the number of films the two have got post Jab We Met, it's clear that Shahid has walked away with a bigger piece of the cake. This despite the fact that the film primarily belonged to his ex girlfriend.
Shahid has drawn a lot of praise for his acting in the film which has resulted in a lot of films being offered to the actor. While his ex girlfriend is close to completing her Yash Raj film Tashan, Shahid has been given a two-film contract by the big banner. One of these films has already been scripted and will see Shahid wooing none other than the Yash Raj favourite Rani Mukherji. Kapur has also been signed on by the man who gave him his debut – Ken Ghosh – to star in his next film which is said to be a big budgeted musical along the line of Walt Disney's super hit The High School Musical. His dad Pankaj Kapur is said to direct a film and has made it clear that his son will play the lead even if he has to wait for Shahid to finish all his other commitments first.
In media interviews Shahid only had the nicest thing to say about his ex girlfriend. Speaking to leading newspapers the actor still describes Kareena as a "close friend" and "wishes her the very best." Despite being provoked the star refused to make public the reasons for their separation or let it be known if there were any ill feelings on either side which have all helped him increase his female fan following. Trade pundits and publicists in the industry say if anything the good boy image has only helped Shahid walk away with a lot of goodwill behind him.
Kareena, on the other hand, hasn't found things that rosy. Despite being touted as the highest paid actress, Kareena is yet to show big offers in her kitty. Other than Tashan and Kambhakht Ishq the actress is yet to sign a film where she plays the only lead.
And in an industry where the number of films in your kitty determines your popularity and status, it is clear who has won the battle of ex-es.
