I mean modern bollywood era. Is Salman the only major superstar who has worked with other leading stars of their times?
Not including cameos. Lead hero/supporting roles

Aamir - Andaz Apna Apna
Shahrukh - Karan Arjun, Hum Tumare Hai Sanam
Akshay - Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jaan-e-man
Ajay - Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, London Dreams
Sunny - Jeet
Anil - No Entry, Biwi No.1, Yuvraaj
Sanjay - Saajan, Chal Mere Bhai
Jackie - Bandhan, Kyonki, Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jaye
Govinda - Salaam-e-ishq
Sunil - Kyonki
Saif - Hum Saath Saath Hain
Akshaye - Salaam-E-Ishq

Pretty impressive for newer era

Even worked many yesteryear stars

Amitabh - Baghban, GTGH, Baabul
Dharmendra - Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya
Mithun - Veer, Yuvraaj, Kick, Lucky
Vinod K - Dabangg, Nishchaiy
Rishi K - Yeh Hai Jalwa

Yes. Because he would give tremendous amount of flops when left on his own and was assigned another actor as parallel lead. That is one of the way Bollywood ensure their marked young one can have time to improve their standing. 😊

But he was a bigger star in most and rather played lead or more prominent role.

I don't think it'd make any difference in most those movies above if some else replaced them

Only film I feel he was more of second lead was - Jeet and Saajan to an extent. Rest he was equal if not bigger star and played more centric role.

And nope most his major hits in 90's were solo leads.

Barring Karan Arjun (where he was bigger star - post HAHK and pre DDLJ), Jeet (Sunny effect), Saajan. In rest he was the main lead and other stars played second fiddle to him such as Sanjay in CMB, Anil in Biwi.No.1, Ajay in HDDCS, Saif in HSSH

Yes, that's quite a list. Thanks for the compilation. Maybe one, he was not restricted to a few production houses; and second maybe because he could fit in any image? Don't know maybe. But maybe that is the reason he has so man y friends in the industry.
