JNDSD~ My take~ Friday 31.3.17~ life saver or life taker?

A lifesaver is a preserver of one's life. Can be one who pulls another from a treacherous, life threatening situation . Figuratively it involves putting one's own self at risk ,possibly involving an act of sacrifice or giving up ,for the sake of another gaining. Ravish's words today , that Sujata took his mother's life to save another life Atharv's. But apart from this ,his words also suggest Sujata saved his mother from committing a heinous crime for she would be living the life of a living dead!

It's a single mother toughened up by the slaps of time whose heart and eyes await the arrival of her son in police lockup. Atharv arrives but with Vividha by his side.. it's like they need each other, besides seeing them together again would gave happiness to a distressed mother that her son is well without mental health issues. One touch to her hand between the cold lock up bars its moving when Atharv tells her.. his memory was hazy ,obscure.. but his mother he would sense by his heart. Here comes the difference of a moral perspective between two mothers.. Sujata shows remorse for the act she has committed, deprived a son of his mother. Suman on the other hand till the last moment showed angst at not being successful in killing Sujata's son Atharv. Sujata also has good words to say about Ravish, so that goodwill prevails between the two brothers. She preaches forgiveness and compassion to Atharv regards Suman's past deeds. Vividha can see Sujata suffers from deep anguish and thus morally bolsters her by saying ..her intent was to save Atharv's life rather than take Suman's life. Atharv reminds his mother that Suman also intended to take Madhav's life too. As a close family the three try to give moral justifications for a serious offence.

The outcome in terms of punishment hinges upon the testimony the deceased Suman's son Ravish gives before the hearing. Even before the dreaded day Sujata gives her stance that she is content Atharv is well and alive along with Madhav and Vividha. In case she is sentenced, she wants both Vividha and Atharv to lookout for Ravish. He lost his mother whichever way it's seen. But Atharv's insecurity comes through when he cries out that Suman was his mother too! despite being a fake one and now that he's lost her and instead gained his real mother, he has no intention of losing her! Vividha will need to support Atharv in this one too, till the hearing and it's outcome.

His call comes. The wounded soldier at last enters the courtroom. Tall.. his expression bland trying desperately to conceal his wounded heart. Yet those who know him from both sides are relieved to see he is alive. The accuser and the accused come face to face. Sujata will have to see if her genuine love of this boy whose mother she has killed will have a comeback of hatred and condemnation for her. Atharv and Vividha wait to see signs of respect, understanding from Ravish for Sujata.. as she professes.

In court, prosecution pushed for punishment for Sujata on the basis of premeditated murder. Family's statements were dismissed. Still the judge finds lack of substantial testimonial evidence to sentence Suman. The verdict therefore goes by what the star witness Ravish the deceased's son has to say about his mother's death as an outcome of Sujata's conspiracy.

A son's anguish comes out in the form of a sworn statement in court. He is asked to speak under oath and Ravish does so. He states the obvious, his loss of losing his mother. One who taught him to deal with life's problems. Ravish outlines the background of what his mother was like. One who had very little happiness in her life and thus had to forever make allowances in her life. Ravish almost defends his mothers bad turns. He states the impact of losing his mother it is like losing a part of himself. One look at Sujata he confirms the important truth, to set things right. Thus speaks the grieving yet discernible soldier the truth but nothing but the truth. The truth is that Sujata shot his mother but she is not guilty of killing her! Ravish states the facts in a very moving way. The love and care that Sujata invested in him begins coming out..it's almost if the tables are turning. A murderer is lauded for actually setting free his mother from committing a murder that would have finally pushed her to insanity. Tears roll down his stubble face as he confesses that even he was unable to recognise the degree of pain that his mother had hidden in her heart. She sought ways of substituting her personal lack of happiness.. and without him even realising she was being drawn into madness. He gives evidence that his mother attempted to kill Atharv ,had Sujata not stopped her she mostly certainly would be guilty of murder. Ravish acknowledges unflinchingly before all, the respect he has for Sujata.looks up to her as his second mother one who never ill treated or held animosity against him for who he was Suman's son. Ravish refers to his life as a soldier.. where he understands what it means to take life in order to save another life! He proclaims it requires great prowess to do so and thus Sujata's crime should be taken as an act of courage. In his eyes she can never hurt anyone or do harm purposely . Ravish lauds the family for treating him with respect ,despite being the outsider. Gradually with gritted fortitude Ravish speaks the truth, which begins to alleviate guilt off Sujata's heavy laden heart. The truth was she never bore malice against Suman. Ravish sums up his statement when he declares that Vividha married him due to circumstantial coercion. Both Atharv and his mother have had a raw deal out of life still they lead a life of integrity and grace. Hence he sees this crime one of self defence and not murder. Well if the accuser maintain the stance ,the court has no other option but to declare Sujata cleared of all charges and free to go!

Staid jubilations outside the court as Sujata meets her near and dear ones. To Ravish she is grateful and he thanks her for freeing his mother from living a life of sorrow and remorse. Atharv has to hug Ravish and gives thanks for granting his mother back to him .. ravish brushes aside Atharv thanks and announces whatever he that belongs to him, Atharv can claim it back a his right. So Ravish turns into a realist rather then put up a stiff resistance.

The family comes home to vashist house. There are silent tears from Ravish and some guilt from Suman, probably after seeing Ravish grievin . Guddi is seen leaving ..but not without her confession to Atharv for the fake pregnancy . Guddi admits before all that there was nothing going on between her and Atharv she was just posing as his wife according to the dictates of Suman. She apologizes to Atharv she never realized the true implication of becoming an accomplice with Suman ,that her ultimate motive was to kill him. Atharv forgives her by reminding her that twice she saved his life.. he does eventually want to know why Guddi/gargi ? did what she did? Vividha interrupts she will let everyone know the reason...

Well the episode belongs to the character Ravish and the actor Shashank without a doubt. He breathed life and soul into the soldier's character. Some moving characterisation one that makes me think wish the world had a few more characters like Ravish.. selfless strong characters who have the stamina to set side personal loss and grief and can look at the wider picture. Ravish mourns his mother's loss but he also kept a keen logical perspective about the quality of life Sujata and Atharv had to endure due to the family's bad handling of the issues..right from his grandfather, father and mother.. all were at fault and wronged the mother and son. Ravish does not give his statement out of family guilt or making up for past transgressions. He spoke in favour of Sujata because he believed his mother was at fault.. even he saw the hate that gradually was spreading in her. She had to have a deterrent and Sujata provided it.. Ravish to me is less of a martyr and more of hero in this very fine episode.. an admirer of the three strong main protagonists of the show Atharv ,Vividha and Ravish ... but this episode belongs to the Ravish ...hamlet53 1.4. 17

Well, an imposing post. Its all wordplay that the dialogue writer cleverly indulged in to make the court scene not a simple yes or no.

Ravish might have lost everything but he also won hearts which is important. I view him as a winner than a loser.

Atharv is still reeling under the impact of four years of drug overdose and yet he was dignified and accepted new realities with least resistance. I was watching this show from the beginning and thus I have a special place for Atharva.

Guddi is someone who lost her way and found her way back before it is too late.

Vividha was standing as neutral observer too happy to speak much.

Madhav found solace in his grandmother avoiding both the fathers quite diplomatically.

Hammie magician, was following u through ur words and reached far beyond fiction.cz u revealed too many things.like ur title reveal a auestion.life taker or giver?and i searched for the answer through ur take.n my answer is "A mother". Nothing less,.nothing more.sujata, behind all her actions had the mother instinct in her.which never requires the justification by law.for God himself created mother and gave the motherly qualities, for which it belongs to the natural reflexes of a mother that she will definitely save her child, will not b sitting quietly while someone attacks him.sujata, was a mother.n ravish , being a very sensible human being knows n understands well, so he could forgive sujata.then again truly sujata freed suman, who sold her soul to the devil, and ravish thanked her for that.a mother deserves to b free, a son's verdict.

I watched yesterday's epi.there was a certain disbelif in sujatas voice when asked, "ravish mere khilaf gawai dega?" Even sujata,.the mother knows a son ravish.n cares for her.unlike suman, sujata is the most understanding character of the show, for me she emerges as a very strong woman.caring for her step-son.i would love to see more of the mother-son duo.few relations are made by birth, few are made by time.ravish-sujata duo falls in the second category.

My heart cried for ravish.something died in him.hope they keep him as a positive character.

Keep writing.keep doing wonders.

yes I thought so too and well presented by ravish.. emotional yet backed by reason
Ravish might have lost everything but he also won hearts which is important. I view him as a winner than a loser.
the point is he certainly has not fallen in his own eyes one has to live with it.. its about living with it that he touches upon .. when he talks about his mother set free from living with guilt
Atharv is still reeling under the impact of four years of drug overdose and yet he was dignified and accepted new realities with least resistance. I was watching this show from the beginning and thus I have a special place for Atharva.
see I didn't.. consider my self one with little knowledge of the character ..but yes it was taking in things slowly
Guddi is someone who lost her way and found her way back before it is too late.

Vividha was standing as neutral observer too happy to speak much.

Hammmiieee...ths will remain my most most fav take of urs hamesha.. FOREVER... OMG u jst nailed it dear.. I wish I cud hav seen the hero not martyr by my own eyes n I kno I'll watch him fr sure.. bt not now..LATER..😔
OMG the way u portrayed ths immortal character in this particular take is jst commendable. . Take a bow dear.. I'm really happy u wrote n dedicated it to Ravish. .u kno na I'm Ravish pankhi! !😛

he must hav been extraordinary while uttering those lines n so must be shahank! ! I heard him saying once in an offscreen he choses to play Ravish caz it's kind of character who doesn't need any other character to shine..ths character shines on its OWN!!! .. isn't it incredible in itself... I jst want cv's to stay away frm his characterisation. ..dare they tried to touch him n butcher him n malign him..I'm gonna break their heads .. I'm really really serious abt that.. 🤔

Sujata does need that weight off her chest..even she deserve that peace n happiness after so many sacrifices! ! The way Ravish justified Sujata's act n in a way thnk her fr being savior fr his mother was vry well depicted by cv's!

Hmm so guddi has got the consolation khair she get away easily bt nevemind she does save Atharva twice..there's no doubt abt that..

Thnk u sooo much Hammie sweetheart fr writing so beautifully n daringly. .I loved how u celebrated the character named Ravish in ur take. Love u hamesha..!!❤️
