Gosh, stumbled upon this gem. Had completely forgotten about this song. The scene preceding the song is so funny; and the song in itself with Anil-Madhuri chemistry combo; Madhuri Dixit's seductive expressions; fantastic music and charming voice of Asha Bhonsle is one gem of a song. Wonder why this isn't remembered much among Asha Bhonsle and Madhuri Dixit's songs?

Yes, maybe 1992. Madhuri had played a drug addict in this movie, thats all I remember. her character had died eventually, and so as a kid I was quite depressed. 😆

yes, me too. Maybe thats why I dont remember much. But these songs which I now recollect, are quite good. You can try only just them and/or some scenes of movie.

It was a good movie but not a very happy one. If I remember correctly, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri's dad are both drug dealers. He gets married to her but she gets into the drug habit and dies and that reforms him or something.

Thank you for sharing these songs, by the way!

Bollywood music changed so dramatically in the last decade or so.

Before that, although different eras had some differences in tastes, overall the influence of western music was limited and the lyrics used to be in Hindi/Urdu rather than a mix of Hindi, English and Punjabi. Also, instruments were used in recordings, rather than relying on digital sounds.
