BOTH ARE AT FAULT : An analysis

This post isn't directed against anyone in the show. Just a simple question to everyone. Would you like being caged in love?

Whatever maya does is wrong but not from her point of view. And not for many others too who sympathise with her. I too do. But I don't really believe that a single person like Arjun could heal her, understand her, care for her. Because if I were in Maya's place, I would never have even chosen him to be my life partner. He's a brain dead person almost, a swag with nothing at all in him. The single scene of Samay yesterday showed how a single man can change someone in a single second, but Arjun isn't the kind. He's a cream eater. That's all.

So basically what maya needs is to be treated by a doctor. Which she isn't being presently though she used to since 9. Maybe as she grew up she came to believe the fact that she isn't actually mad, her depression and mood swings were only cuz of her dad's ominous presence in her life. This is partially true. Because her dad had done a lot of damage but not the complete thing. Had that been the fact, she would have lost her insecurities after his death.

Rather she has grown more and more insecure. That can be due to the fact that throughout her life she has been afraid of losing her mother. And now that has been transmitted to Arjun.

Maya doesn't love losing, she has never let her mother leave and live with ashwin. Partly because she loved her like hell and partly because that would be her loss to ashwin. Same for arjun. She loves her like hell and letting him go would be a loss to Vandana and Saanjh. She can't afford to lose.

So basically at present though she understands that arjun isn't the arjun who loved her, she isn't ready to leave him because of

* the fear of being alone again.

* the fear of losing her one love.

* the fear of being talked about in media.

* the fear of losing to Vandana and Saanjh.

So what she has now done is to cage him up. She has set up such a weird web around him that even if he does something, it'll be he who will be accused of domestic violence. She has never ever physically hurt him, so no proof of the fact that she's torturing him mentally every second. But she herself has proofs of domestic violence throughout her body.

Maya wouldn't have done this to Arjun if she believed she's torturing arjun, but she doesn't believe that because her basic idea about love is wrong. She knows he hates her but she believes too that hatred is a part of love. So basically she needs treatment which only arjun could have given her, led her into. Because he's under camera surveillance only upto his car maybe. He could have consulted any psychiatrist if need be. But he didn't. Because he's a duffer.

I don't blame arjun completely because I really sympathize with him. But if I were arjun, I would have handled things differently.

So basically what the situation has gone to, both are at equal fault.
