"Treating people with poor mental health, a victim of poor circumstances, or a high risk victim as an incompetent human serves to only worsen their condition and disempower them".

This is a brilliant way to summarise how our society views abuse victims, disabled people and people with mental health issues, and why it is wrong. I call it food for thought and something we should all learn to understand. Everybody has a certain extent of incapacity and flaws, but treating them like they cannot function normally in society or need to be treated differently in a way that makes out that they are incapable of doing anything or thinking like everybody else only makes room for further complications.

Maya being an abuse victim and somebody having had has come out strong from it should never be treated pitifully or as if she is incompetent to do or think like anybody else, and neither should all of her actions be treated as a result of her experiences or justified in that way. I wish to a certain extent arjun wasn't given a role in helping maya out of her abusive situation in order to further reiterate the 'damsel in distress' scenario that is always portrayed about women, although i know that isn't possible when you want approval from the trp aunties.
