And I don't find KKHH to be a superficial or hollow film like most. In fact, I think it is probably the only film from KJo that actually had substance.

I don't agree that Rahul fell for Anjali after she grew out her hair and started wearing sarees. He has subconsciously loved her all along, ever since college days but he just never realised it cuz he always took her presence in his life for granted. But when she left college...his reaction said everything. You don't react like that when a platonic friend leaves you. Because Anjali never fit into the mold he had in his mind of his ideal woman (and also cuz he was an immature guy in college), he never had any conscious romantic thoughts wrt her in college.

Tina realised this. That is why in the train scene when Anjali was leaving, she said that perhaps she has come in between two friends, who had a deep underlying love. But I guess all of them just accepted the status quo and moved on in their lives after Anjali left.

Rahul probably realised that he loved Anjali (in a non-platonic way) as he matured with age. This would explain why he spoke of her so lovingly when he described how she was like to his mom (after little Anjali's 8th birthday). And later on in the film in the ladki badi anjaani hai song, he kept seeing the older tomboy-ish Anjali (from college days) in the new Anjali and kept recalling & reminiscing his college days with her. Further reiterating that he has actually loved her since then.

I think people who call the film superficial or hollow need to watch it again with a fresh mind, they may gain some perspective.😆

Iproprioceptor - Nice views. And I agree with both.

I love both because both movies had their friends as life partners. For me, friendship matters more and love follows. Rahul-Anjali's story highlighted how friendship (in fact being best friends) is the key factor to a couple. Naina-Rohit were already in love which required a catalyst or father figure to provide right direction to their friendship. Both succeeded and I hope lived happily ever after.

Difficult to pick between Naina-Rohit and Anjali-Rahul, however, just for SRK-Kajol, HAVE to pick that.

KKHH was even dissed by the director for its shallow premise so not gonna dig much deep.I still love watching it cos the actors were at adorable best, great chemistry b/w all leads, lovely sound track.Entertainment value and desi flavour much high compared to KHNH

Coming to KHNH its so overrated.I cant believe people call it realistic.Naina supposed to come from a financially broke family😕😕 her attires and family's lifestyle definitely gave that feel of suffering middle class...Kjo cant handle realism lets face it🥱.There are many girls from broken families with internal issues, insecurities around me but the arrival of Aman as her saviour and his depiction as messiah for her entire family trouble was v difficult to digest. Its not like he was giving a helping hand but profusely solving every problem of a girl he talked with for 2 minutes and inserting himself in her lovelife, bond with her siblings, grandma what not🤔.Unrealistic expectations in real life scenario.even I felt Naina was taken in by Aman cos she was the first guy who showed her some care and attention. There were so many emotional scenes with SRK crying away but only ones that managed to strike a chord were the ones with Jaya B and PZ,other kids.Saif was the show stealer with his comic timing though his character again was written bizarrely but cute quirky chemistry with PZ.All in all left me unmoved..,Kjo's emotional manipulation by bringing in death angle and all..dont care if I get called out for a cynic..its what it is.SRK has always been much much better in bad boy roles like Josh,DDLJ, 1st half,Anjaam,Baazigar or characters with courage, spine, grit like Chak de,Swades.

Kal ho na ho, anyday. It had better story, better acting and more believability factor. Aman and Naina falling in love and later Aman deciding to hitch both Naina and Rohit, both knew the truth of their feelings. KKHH was nonsensical in story and overgrown people in college! Both Rani and Kajol's charac were pathetic and annoying. The kid girl reading letter and uniting SRK and Kajol- thrashy.
