Mona Singh

Mona Singh has quit the reality show Champion Chaalbaaz, on Sony TV. Apparently the actress is dissatisfied with the way the show is shaping up.

The channel also feels that their star-attraction (Mona Singh) is getting over-exposed and it might take away the sheen from her much-awaited reality show, Extreme Makeover. Mona has been replaced by Shonal Rawat, who has started shooting for the show.

Our source says, "After Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2 got over, the channel asked Mona to host there new reality show Champion Chaalbaaz for two episodes since they hadn't found a suitable anchor for the show. However, after two episodes she was asked to host three more. Eventually, she became a permanent host of the show."

Our source adds, "Mona was unable to refuse because it was at Sony TV that she got her first break in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin."

However, Champion Chaalbaaz did not give her the same creative satisfaction which she got from JDJ2. Also, Mona's other yet-to-be launched reality show, Extreme Makeover, is supposed to be the channel's next big ticket.

The channel feared that Mona would be over-exposed and this might affect the bigger show, Extreme Makeover.
Adds our source, "The channel heads themselves gave her the option to discontinue the show."

Mona confirms, "My show, Extreme Makeover will be on air very soon and I still have plenty of dubbing and shooting left. As it is, I didn't get a breathing space after Jhalak… so I decided to take a break."

She adds, "I had a meeting with the channel heads where I was asked to take the decision. In Champion Chaalbaaz, I was left with very little to do. For instance in JDJ2, my sense of humour and impromptu dialogues were the main draw. I am quite happy to be out of the show. I am just keeping my fingers crossed for my next big show, Extreme Makeover."

Was she just a temporary host. Hmmmm thats news. I used to look forward to her hosting the show.

I hope the next one is Mini Mathur. My all time favorite.

That's shocking!!! Now the TRP's will keep decreasing!!! They were already low but with Mona leaving, they'll decrease even more!!!

true. mona was part of the package, and now she's gone 😭. I'll miss her.
