Everybody around Salman Khan — friends, family et al have waxed eloquent (pun intended) about his statue at Madame Tussauds. The actor, however, kept mum. Until now.

We bring you an excerpt of a TV interview with the star to be aired tonight where he speaks about the experience.

"By being a part of Madame Tussauds my fans, my NRI fans and their families will get to see me there. One gets more popularity and gets to be known among the masses."

"Initially, when I was approached I refused it because I thought it was some kind of prank being played on me. During the making of Saawariya, there was a call from Sony International and I thought it was some kind of tie-up with the movie. Eventually, when I received a call from Tussauds I took it seriously."

"Very few Indians have the privilege and it feels good to be a part of it. We have Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya, Shah Rukh and I think I am the third most deserving in the museum," quips Salman.

Salman's wax statue is to be unveiled on January 15 at Madame Tussauds, London.
