"How could she just leave like that? Without telling me? Who gave her that right? Why would she leave at all?" thought Shivaay. Questions were burning his mind. In disbelief, he read the letter again.
Dear Shivaay, (pretend that this is all in Hindi)
I'm leaving. For good. Maybe you think it's a joke and you think I'll come running back in a few hours, but that's not the case. I'm leaving your life for good. You should be dancing with happiness now, right? Why aren't you? Come on now Shivaay, dance. After all, I've left and along with me I've taken a huge burden off your shoulders. After all, I'm just an annoying charity case that you were forced to take up, right? After all, you never even really cared. In haste of taking care of what's best for your family, you forgot that I was also a part of the group of people you called family, including Saahil. Not once did I feel that I was part of that family, though. Even after all we've been through together, you still can't trust me. But don't worry, I've taken care of the so-called mess I created yesterday. Although I was hurt multiple times, I would never let anything happen to your pride. Someone has to be the better person, right? I don't know where I'll go, and how I'll manage, but I will find some place, and I will manage, because that's what I was doing before you met me. Don't come looking for me, because you don't have to, I'm no longer your responsibility as I no longer live underneath your roof. Celebrate Shivaay, and take care of yourself. I've left you forever.
-Anika
Unknowingly, a tear slipped out of the corner of Shivaay's eye. He didn't know whether it was a tear of anger, a tear of frustration, or a tear of sadness. He wanted to kick himself and his stupid, overrated pride. He started walking towards the door.
"Ruko Shivaay! Anika Bhabhi ne kaha ki vo nahi chahti ki koi isse doondne ki koshish karo." Om said.
"Yeh Anika apni aap ko samajhti kya hai? Ki vo kuch bhi kar sakti hai, meri marzi ke bina? No, I don't think so. Just... let me go Om." Shivaay sputtered.
"Itni jaldi mein kaha jaa rahe ho, Mr. Oberoi?" a voice echoed in the hall.
Everyone turned to face the front door. There stood Kamini Randhawa and ACP Ranveer Randhawa. Kamini walked forward.
"Phirse rishta lekar aayi hu. After all, aap ki biwi ne haath jod kar mutse maafi maangi kal raat." Kamini smirked.
"What do you mean? Anika aap ke paas aayi thi?" Shivaay said, shell-shocked.
"Of course. Mere saath itni batameezi karke, she did right by apologizing." Kamini drawled, the pallu of her saree threatening to fall off her shoulder.
Shivaay couldn't speak. As the families exchanged congratulations on Priyanka and Ranveer's wedding, he remembered the letter: "But don't worry, I've taken care of the so-called mess I created yesterday. Although I was hurt multiple times, I would never let anything happen to your pride."
"Not so fast!" a voice yelled in the hall. Everyone turned around. There, the devil himself stood, Daksh. "Why are you consenting for this marriage without my consent? After all, I am the groom's uncle."
Shivaay reacted fast. He strode forward and yanked Daksh by the collar. "What the hell did you do to Anika?! Where the hell is she?!" Shivaay screamed.
Daksh smirked. "She is where she should be. Hell."
Shivaay was shocked. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER DAKSH?!" he screamed mirthlessly like a madman.
"Relax, Shivaay! Why would I touch her? And why do you care so much? What is she to you?" Daksh said, smirking.
Shivaay stopped and slowly let go of Daksh's collar. Daksh smirked and smoothed his collar. What was wrong with him? Why couldn't he name the relationship that was between him and Anika?
"Shivaay, I didn't touch her first. She came running to me first. I had to welcome her with open arms of course." Daksh said snidely.
Shivaay's head snapped up. "What??!"
