Karan nods his head and agrees. KK grins and begins explaining what to do. Karan stands in front of the mirror
Kar - hmmm a date....
Part 9
Karan nervously watches as Tia chats with her friends, he begins muttering to himself when KK joins him
KK - bro, what you waiting here for? Go and ask Tia out
Kar - she's with her friends
KK - well, go drag her away from them and ask her
Kar - I'll wait until she's finished
KK - fine..you keep waiting, I'll go do it
Kar - no KK wait!
KK ignores Karan and walks over to Tia, he smiles at her friends
KK - hello girls
The girls giggle while Tia rolls her eyes, KK puts his arm around Tia's shoulder and leans closer to whisper
KK - Karan wants to talk to you
T - about what?
KK - you know what its about now go
KK takes Tia over to Karan and grins
KK - have fun, I'll see you guys later
Karan gulps and looks nervously at Tia, she looks around then looks at Karan
T - well what is it?
Kar - erm....about what happened yesterday
T - oh...yeah....
Kar - well I think...well KK thinks....he told me that...
T - Karan.....out with it
Kar - he says I should take you out on a date
T - what? why?
Kar - I think his exact words were "to see what happens" so will you?
T - I don't know
Kar - but...why don't you know?
T - it's going to be weird....I mean you and me...on a date....
Kar - well who knows, you might like it....so should we?
T - erm, ok then, if you want
Kar - good, so erm, I'll pick you up....around 7?
T - yeah that'll be cool
Kar - great, see you then
T - ok see you
Tia walks away while Karan breathes a sigh of relief, he turns to go and bumps into KK
Kar - you were here the whole time?
KK - of course, I was around the corner....you really think I was going to miss my little brother asking a girl out on a date...for the first time....ever.....no way, that's an unmissable moment....so where you taking her?
Kar - I don't know....maybe to the cafe near her house
KK - are you serious?
Kar - yeah...why?
KK - dude you can't take a girl to the cafe for a date....especially if its a first date
Kar - so what should I do?
KK - leave that to me, ok so what are you going to wear?
Kar - why? is there a certain dress code for first dates?
KK - yes
Kar - huh? what?
KK - you can't dress too casually, otherwise the girl will think you didn't even bother trying to dress up for her....and you can't overdress otherwise she'll think you're being desperate....
Kar - so what then?
KK - leave that to me aswell, you just go ahead about your day
Kar - ok
Karan leaves while KK taks out his mobile phone and dials a number, he waits for it to be picked up before speaking
KK - hello, Sonia, its KK, do you have any tables free at your restaurant? great.....no its not for me, its for Karan, he's going out on his first date.....yeah I know, so have a table ready for two, he'll be there around 7ish....ok thanks
KK hangs up and wonders off. It's 6 in the evening and Karan is studying in his room when KK comes
KK - you're still studying?
Kar - why?
KK - have you forgotten about your date?
Kar - no, I thought I would do some work before going
KK - and when do you plan to get changed?
Kar - soon
KK - no, not soon, now
KK pulls Karan up and makes him stand in front of the mirror, he then opens Karan's cupboard and shakes his head, he closes it and opens his own cupboard and pulls out a shirt and hands it to Karan, who looks at it and shoves it back into KK's hands
Kar - I am not wearing your clothes
KK - why not?
Kar - because....they're disgusting...you wash them every other week
KK - so? I wash them though don't I? just stop complaining and wear it
Kar - no
KK - would you prefer to wear dad's clothes......
Kar - yes, they're much cleaner than yours
KK - fine you big baby, wait here
KK leaves the room, and goes into his parents room where Angad is sitting on his bed working on his laptop, he glances up as KK opens his cupboard
A - what are you doing...why are you raiding my clothes for?
KK - to find a nice shirt for Karan
A - why?
KK - he has a date
A - oh...
Angad goes back to his work but then realises what KK just said and puts his laptop down and walks over to KK and turns him around
A - what did you say...Karan has....a date?
KK - yeah, shocker isn't it, but he does, and there is no way I am going to let him go out on his first date in the clothes he wears, and he won't wear mine so the last choice is yours
A - in that case....
Angad picks out a blue shirt
KK - give it here then
A - no, I'll give it him myself
KK - if you insist
Angad and KK leave the room and find Karan standing in front of the mirror, Karan looks and finds Angad grinning
Kar - why did you tell him for?
KK - he asked so I told him, anyways he's got you a shirt, now wear it
Angad hands the shirt to Karan who changes into it, KK picks out a pair of jeans for him to wear and Karan reluctantly wears them and sprays himself with some aftershave, he looks at himself in the mirror then at KK and Angad
Kar - how do I look?
Angad puts his hands on Karan's shoulders and smiles at him
A - I can't believe you have your first date
Kar - it's not a big deal dad
A - yes it is, I always knew KK would be on dates all the time, but you....you were always the studying type, I never imagined you would be the dating type....so tell me, who's the lucky girl?
Karan looks at KK and shakes his head
KK - just someone from college dad
Kar - yeah a college friend dad....not anyone that you would know...
A - ok, well I'm going to tell your mom the great news
Kar - no...don't....
By the time Karan speaks, Angad has left the room, Karan looks at the clock and sees its half 6. Meanwhile Tia is standing in front of her mirror wearing jeans and a top, she huffs and shouts for Ria, who comes running
Ri - what is it?
T - I need some help
Ri - with what?
T - I.....have a date....and I don't know what I should wear
Ri - a date? with who?
T - Karan
Ri - what? are you serious....
T - I will give you details later, just help me
Ria nods her head and opens Tia's cupboard, she pulls out a blue glitter knee length dress and hand sit to Tia, who takes it and gets changed into it. She looks at herself in the mirror and smiles
T - thanks Di, what about shoes?
Ri - I have a pair of silver sandals that will go perfectly with that dress, wait here
Ria rushes out and grabs the sandals and Tia wears them
T - should I wear some make up?
Ri - do you want to?
T - not really
Ri - then don't, you look perfect.
T - ok
Tia looks at the clock and sees its almost 7, meanwhile Karan looks at the clock and sees the time.
Kar - guess I should get going
KK - yep
Karan turns to leave the room but stops
Kar - oh yeah, where am I taking her?
KK - to this address
KK hands him a slip of paper
Kar - what's this?
KK - its the address to Moonlit Magic
Kar - thats meant to be a restaurant?
KK - yes do you have a problem with that?
Kar - no,no i was just asking
KK - ok, now go
Karan nods his head and leaves the room, he goes downstairs where Kripa is waiting, she hugs him and looks at him lovingly
Kar - not you too...I get it...I'm going on my first date...its a shocker, now can I go?
K - yeah go
Karan is about to leave but stops, he turns around and comes back to Kripa
Kar - one question....why weren't you guys like this when KK had his first date?
K - because even as a young kid, it was obvious KK would be popular with the girls
Kar - ok whatever, I'm going
Karan kisses Kripa's cheek and leaves. He gets in Angad's car and drives to Tia's house. He knocks on the door and Suhana opens the door
Su - Karan, what are you doing here?
Kar - hi aunty, erm....is Tia here?
Su - of course...she lives here
Kar - yeah stupid question....could you call her please?
Su - sure, go sit inside with your uncle
Kar - ok
Karan goes inside and sits next to Prithvi, they both begin talking when Suhana comes downstairs with Tia, Karan looks at her and is shocked, Prithvi sees Tia
P - and where are you going?
T - erm out with Karan....is that ok?
P - yeah..but my question was WHERE are you going?
T - erm, Karan?
Karan snaps back to reality
Kar - oh just ....erm out with some friends
P - ok....but why does Tia need to wear a dress for?
T - dad its only a dress, just chill
P - fine, Karan why are you so nervous for?
Kar - no reason, Tia shall we go?
T - yeah
P - have her back before 9
T - dad
P - ok 10
Kar - of course uncle, bye
Karan and Tia leave the house. Karan glances at Tia and smiles
Kar - you look nice
T - thanks....you too...hey we're matching...what a coincidence
Karan looks at his shirt then at Tia's dress
Kar - who would have thought....come on then otherwise we'll be late
T - sure
They both sit in the car and Karan drives them to the restaurant.
Coming up - the date (I know it was meant to be in this part but then it would have been extra long)
Hope this part was long enough to make up for lost time, glad to be back and hopefully should be updating more often, do comment of course😊not sure when the next part will be, probably after I've updated my others
