"Woh mere saath aisa kaise kar sakte hain?" Anika thought as she cried silently while sneaking glances at Shivaay and Tia who were dancing together.
"Ab rone se kya hoga, galati bhi toh teri hai na puttar." Anika turned her head and saw dadi looking at her with sympathetic eyes. "Tu ne hi usse iss shaadi k liye majboor kiya na."
"Lekin dadi woh mana kar sakte thhe na. Kyun unhone nahi kaha ki unki patni main hoon, ki woh mujhse..." Anika trailed off thinking about her poolside conversation with Shivaay.
"Pyaar karta hai." Dadi hadn't finished Anika's sentence, she actually told her so.
"Dadi.."
"Anika, mera Billu aisa hi hai, kabhi kissiko nahi batata ki uske dil mein kya hai. Saari zindagi usne sirf doosron ka khayal rakha hai, dusron k liya jiya hai, apni khushi k baare mein kabhi nahi soch. Kabhi kuch nahi maanga usne, na kabhi shikayat ki bas doosron ki khushi k liye zindagi jee hai usne."
Anika started sobbing. She had lost her memory but the feelings that she had for her husband weren't lost, her heart kept them safe. It may sound weird considering her memory loss but it's the truth, she was in love with her husband who soon will be her ex-husband. "Dadi aap meri halt jaanti hai, mujhe nahi yaad ki hamara rishta kaisa thha. Jab hosh aaya toh unhone sabse pehle yahi yaad dilaya ki main unki patni hoon, unki zimmedaari. Unka pyaar? Kyun nahi keh dete agr unhe pyaar hai mujhse?"
Dadi placed her hand on Anika's cheek, "Puttar jis insaan ne aaj tak apni feelings ko apne dil mein hi chupa kar rakha ho uske liye apne pyaar ka izhaar karna mushkil toh hoga na. Maana ki woh apne pyaar ko shabdon mein bayan nahi karta lekin uski aankhon mein tere liye pyaar jhalakta hai."
"Mujhe kuch samajh nahi aa raha, kya karun main Dadi?!"
"Meri baat maan aurr Billu se baat kar, keh de uss se ki woh yeh shaadi na kare. Aurr yeh bhi bata dena ki tu uss se kitna pyaar karti hai." Dadi smiled.
"Sab theek ho jaayega Dada?" Anika's question made Dadi contemplate, "Sab toh shayad theek na ho, lekin haan tera aurr mere Billu ka yeh rishta zaroor bach jaayega. Usse khud se door mat hone de."
Anika turned her attention back on the stage and saw that Shivaay was staring at her. She stared back at him and noticed the slight change in his stance. His shoulders sagged, he looked tired. His vibrant eyes were looking dull and he looked unhappy. Maybe Dadi was right.
Shivaay saw Anika walk away. He felt as if his happiness was walking away from him. "Why can't she confess?" Shivaay thought to himself.
"Shivaay?"
Shivaay turned around and noticed his brother Omkara standing there looking pissed. "Omkara tum kab waapis aaye?"
"Woh sab baad mein Shivaay, abhi mujhe tujhse kuch zaroori baat karni hai." Omkara said.
"Omkara! Glad to see.." Tia was interrupted by Omkara who raised a hand gesturing her to stop, "Abhi nahi Tia, mere paas time nahi hai tum par waste karne k liye. Mujhe mere bhai se zaroori baat karni hai. Chalein Shivaay?!"
Shivaay looked at Tia who was fuming in anger and then at Omkara. He nodded in positive and followed Omkara to his room. Once in his room, Omkara started pacing.
"Om.."
"Shut up!" Omkara snapped. "shivaay tu pagal ho gaya hai? Yeh kya kar raha hai? Dimaag toh theek hai na tera? I think doctors ko galat-femi hai ki tera dil kamzoor hai, asal mein toh tera dimaag kharaab hai."
"Om please!"
"Kya please haan Shivaay? Kya? Yeh sab kar k tu saabit kya karn achahta hai? Ki Anika bhabhi k hone na hone se tujhe koi fark nahi padta?"
"Om main majboor hoon. You don't know.." Omkara interrupted Shivaay and said, "Oh please! If this is about that "Dai maa" recording then.."
"Wait WHAT?" Shivaay shouted, "You know about that?"
"Shivaay I really think tujhe apna dimaag check karva lena chahiye. Do you really think that video is true?"
"Om.."
Omkara shrugged his shoulders and added, "After watching that video mujhe bhi doubt hua thha but then I decided to get DNA test done and my idiot brother I am no najayaz aulaad okay! I am Tej and Jhanvi Oberoi's son. Tia ki mom tujhe bewakoof bana rahi thhi, emotional blackmail kar rahi thhi."
"What? Really? But tujhe video k baare mein pata kaise chala?"
"I heard you and Mrs. Kapoor talk about it. But that isn't important, what important is that you need to tell me that why in the world are you marrying Tia?"
Shivaay sighed, the revealation that Omkara is a legitimate Oberoi and that Mrs. Kapoor was lying relieved him off the burden, "Anika ne force kiya.."
"And you agreed. Wow Shivaay! You know bhabhi ki yadaasht chali gayi hai right?"
"Om you weren't here, tujhe nahi pata ki usne.."
"Shivaay, bhabhi ne jo kiya ismein unki galati nahi, halaat hi aise thhe ki unhone tujhe yeh shaadi karne k liye bola. Prinku ne bataya mujhe ki Anika bhabhi kya sochti hai tum dono k rishte k baare mein. Shivaay ek baar, bas ek baar uss se keh ko dekh ki tu unke liye kya feel karta hai."
"Why can't she confess first? Ussi ne mujhe..."
"For God's sake Shivaay! This is not a damn competition! Tu samajh kyun nahi raha hai. She doesn't remember anything, she needs you to tell her that you love her."
"I..I do not..main.." Shivaay fumbled making Omkara smile, "Ab bhi tu yahi kahega ki woh sirf teri zimmedaari hai, pyaar nahi?"
"Shivaay..mere bhai." Omkara held Shivaay by his shoulders, "Stop this nonsense now and accept that you love her. Maan kyun nahi leta ki uske naam khoon khaandaan se fark nahi padta tujhe, fark padta hai toh sirf iss baat se ki woh tujhse pyaar karti hai ya nahi. Issiliye tu yeh sab kar raha hai na so that you can know what she feels?"
"I can't do this anymore Om. It scares me. I am scared. The way I feel for her, the way she makes me feel, it's scary."
"Shivaay." Omkara placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Mujhpar itne attacks hue, mujhe maarne ki koshish ki gayi lekin mujhe kabhi darr nahi laga. But seeing Anika like that, almost dead in my arms, I felt as if I would die the next second. Woh door chali jaati hai toh aisa lagta jaise meri zindagi mujhse door jaa rahi ho. Om mere liye mera parivaar, mere bhai sabse important lekin Anika..Woh ladki jisse main sirf kuch mahino pehle mila hoon woh mere liye itni important kab aurr kaise ban gayi?" Shivaay felt wetness on his cheeks. For the first time in 20 years Shivaay Singh Oberoi let his tears fall freely.
Omkara too got emotional seeing the state his brother was in, "Shivaay, maine kaha thha na ki ek din aisa aayega jis din teri zindagi kissi aurr ki ho jayegi aurr tujhe pata bhi nahi chalega."
Shivaay looked at Omkara, his eyes red and his sight blurry due to tears but didn't say anything. He just kept hearing what Omkara had to say. "Royegi woh par aansun tere bahenge, chot usse lagegi par dard tujhe hoga.."
Shivaay remembered how he felt when he had seen Anika almost dead after he had rescued her from Daksh and how he felt when he saw Anika lying on the floor in a pool of her own blood.
"Saansein uski rukengi par dum tera ghutega..."
Exactly what he had felt seeing Anika unconcious that day in that spa room.
"Aurr uss din duniya ki koi bhi takat, koi bhi paisa, koi bhi naam tere kaam nahi aayega."
Just what's happening now. He's got the name, money and power but he still isn't able to stop all that nuisense that is happening .
"Sach mein dhal jaate hain kisse dil se dohrane k baad, ishq par hoga yakeen ishq ho jaane k baad."
Shivaay felt his heart burst, it all felt so overwhelming that he fell on his kness and started crying again.
Omkara sat on the floor beside Shivaay and said, "Kaha thha na maine ki jis din tujhe pyaar ho jaayega uss din toh aayega mere paas, rote hue."
Shivaay snorted at that, "Aaj khush toh bohot hoge tum.."
At that both Shivaay and Omkara started laughing like maniacs, "Yaar kabhi socha nahi thha ki aisa din bhi aayega." Shivaay laughed and wiped the tears off his cheeks, "Can you believe it? Anika? The girl who broke my car's windscreen the day we met, God knows how many times she threw water at me, mujhe Billu Ji bulati thhi, that language!"
"Don't forget gobar..!" Omkara added.
"Eeww don't say that word. Mujhe michmichi hoti hai!"
"Kya hoti hai?"
And the laughter continued.
"Ab yeh Shivaay kahan chale gaye?!" Anika muttered to herself as she searched for Shivaay. She had something to confess.
"Shivaay?" She knocked th bathroom door but got no response.
"Arre bhaiya aapne Shivaay ko dekha hai?" she asked a servant, "Ji woh toh Omkara sir k room mein honge unhi k saath."
"Thanks"
"Shi.." Anika stopped as she saw Shivaay and Omkara rolling on the floor laughing hard. "What had happened?" she thought as she looked at the brothers laughing.
It was Omkara who noticed Anika first. He coughed a little to cover up his laughter, "I think you both need to talk." He said and stood up straight, "tum log baatein karo main zaraa Prinku se mil kar aata hoon." And so Omkara left Shivaay and Anika in his room.
"Shivaay mujhe aap se kuch zaroori baat karni hai.."
"Anika I wanna talk to you.."
The said in unison.
"Pehle main.." said Shivaay and Anika nodded in okay.
"Main yeh shaadi nahi kar sakta! Hell I do not want to marry Tia, I can't even tolerate her." Said Shivaay.
"Sachhi?!" Anika said happily making Shivaay narrow his eyes at her, "Tumhe badi khushi ho rahi hai. Weren't you the one who forced me into this?!"
"Wahi toh batana thha aapko ki aap yeh shaadi nahi kar sakte. You can't leave me and.." Anika blushed a little.
"Toh farak padta hai?" Shivaay smiled.
"Aapko farak padta hai?" Anika asked smilingly.
"Mujhe farak padna chahiye?" he stepped closer to her.
"Kyun nahi. Aap pati hain mere aurr main aapki...?" Anika purposely left that incomplete so that Shivaay could fill it for her.
Shivaay wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him. He nuzzled her cheek, "Tum meri patni ho, meri zindagi, mera pyaar."
"Aap.." Anika's breath hitched as Shivaay kissed the corner of her mouth, "I love you Anika, bohot pyaar karta hoon tumse. I know kehne mein der ho gayi lekin.."
"Sshhh.." Anika closed her eyes and cupped his cheeks, "Der nahi hui Shivaay."
Shivaay looked at her and smiled softly, "I love you."
"I love you too."
And then they kissed, and kept kissing for a while.
