JNDSD~ My take Sunday 19th February 2017 ~ Ah! to live in love..
Love has the power to have a profound impact upon humans. Some may see it as surreal, others, tranquil. Others may see it as an overture of mad passions. Some see it as an intellectual inspiration into creating works that bring out the finer sense. Love is the very reason of our existence . Love also has the power to multiply and spread. Such is the fulfilled idyllic love that as humans, we all aspire for. Yet love can also cause doubts, cast aspersions and blind people. Love can also be elusive In nature and hard to make sense of. In such moments when love changes its nature to being complicated and untrusting.. people living in love grope in the dark for one peep of light which can set them free! Today's episode shows us Vividha living in love, yet enraged by the odd treatment given to her by two men who claim to love her. We see Atharv telling us its easier to die in love ... as one is dead.. as in a state of nothingness past all traces of the love , its weakening memories of the way things were for him and Vividha..but here comes the eternal dying in love for him! When he has to live each day and see the traces of love for him in Vividha's eyes!this dying is eternal for him whilst he lives in love.. he has to live in his love .. to see Vividha married off to Ravish .Till then he will stay alive and stop the dark figure of death from coming for his soul. Such is the madness of living in love!
The woman with righteous rage, tries the technique of reminding him of old times how he was the man who taught her the meaning of standing up for her rights.. he had said, be involved in taking decisions; showed her how important making her choices were. But next minute she lashes out at him for being yet another male figure head who makes the choice for her life and that too without bothering to even ask her what she want! She brings out the importance of consultation, be it dissension or agreement in relationships people have to be conferred with. To Vividha, his claim to knowing her closely is grossly warped as he knows her not. By overlooking the key fact of consulting her about a major milestone of her life he certainly has clarified her misapprehensions regards their bond. To me its dramatic irony that Vividha, actually takes Atharv to task for not being able to differentiate the difference between appearance and reality. How he constantly misreads her tremendous much deserved respect for Ravish as love, the emotion she holds for him and him alone which time and again he throws back in her face. For me the tragedy lies in the fact that Vividha is the one who is blind to the truth not Atharv ..he sees well ahead into the future, which looks bleak for Vividha if she latches onto him for the rest of her life as they had dreamed about.
When hurt turns into rage and reactions become erratic! Vividha's all consuming anger at being passed off like a piece of furniture! Comes down like a ton of bricks upon Ravish too! her tirade to me is almost like a blame game ,that is, only after his entry into their lives that Atharv and her suffered misunderstandings and grievances between themselves. She sees Ravish's previous act of kindness of uniting her and Atharv now as an act of meddling in their personal affairs. It's like Vividha's judgment too now is clouded by rage.. which becomes vindictive here!
In the heat of the moment then.. Vividha chastises both men Atharv and Ravish and passes severe judgment on them both.. enough of being kicked about between them! She too feels and as far as she feels , they have hurt her sentiments! Mocked her! thus before all she, Vividha who now belongs to neither of them !! will sever her ties with both of them! wash her hands off the pair of them! But in truth she does removes herself as the bone of contention between the two men but cannot herself free herself from the grief that shakes up the super trio as it stands today. The torn apart trio! Are decisions taken in the heat of the moment sane or insane in the long run?
Untying the ghat bandhan for Vividha is an act of protest in her wild, yet justified demonstration in her fight to get her rights recognized! But the truth of the matter is that the knot of true love that she has for Atharv is still far from untied! Such is the painful throes of true love..it sounds rough but in actual fact the roughness itself smoothes the aching spirit... Vividha cries in the inner recesses of her room .. who are her tears for? for Atharv for standing her up? for Ravish for his unduly interfering ? or for herself! as her self respect has been put on stake by two men obsessed by some martyrdom in love!
As if to say Atharv lives on happily ever after Vividha's tirade. He doesn't really, he has already died a thousand deaths! The funny thing is that people around him, even his beloved Vividha only saw what he showed to all his madness.. not his truth! But a son needs respite and where best can he find other than his mother's bosom. Sujata too reminds him about how strong his love for Vividha was that he pulled heaven and earth apart.. fought the likes of kailash! Then why this stubborn malaise, delay and denial of his love for Vividha? She accuses him of abandoning Vividha like his father Ramakant deserted his mother! A man can lie to the world but Sujata's son cannot lie to his own mother!
Thank heavens for mothers before whom disaffected , disillusioned, dismayed sons can cry and confess those matters they can do not with others... thus Atharv opens his soul and heart before his mother Sujata. He is not indifferent to the effect of his attitude upon three lives.. as he is fully aware of what he is doing..he tells her he has to be marble cold as soon he will truly turn cold! He cannot risk being selfish, and to have and hold on to Vividha especially when the last thing he wants to see in his final days is to foretell she will emerge as a widow eventually if she ends up marrying him. It is near enough death for him to palm her over to another man.. but it is a consoling thing to see the man is none other than his half brother Ravish. That Vividha will still have part of him in Ravish.. yes he is dying a thousand deaths , but he lives in the hope that Vividha s respect and likeness for Ravish will with the passage of time change into the kind of love she has for him! Sujata realizes the ordeal her only son goes through and her bosom splits in half! But to me she can only be proud of her Atharv Sujata who is pure and sincere in his love for Vividha.. that her boy has yet again come to her in this hour of need for her support!which she will give to him for Sujata too is one who believes in putting others first before her herself. Atharv hugs his weeping mother draws from her strength .. yes he has won half his battle.. he has impressed upon his mother that his love for Vividha is true ,sincere. For true love is unselfish, giving, more than receiving only. Thoughtful more about the long term happiness. Mindful more towards Vividha's emotional security and stability . To ensure that, he will hang on to his mother but will have to release Vividha ..let her go to Ravish.. so he Atharv, can be confident that his true love has a fair chance of working towards progression in love which is she is very unlikely to have with him. So it's a graceful resigned Atharv I come across ,rather than one young man wallowing in his impending doom. For he does turn things around, towards a positive outcome especially for the only woman he loves.. Vividha!
Its interesting the mention of the object nail..a sharp pointed metal object that is used to bind and perform joinery. The very object nail if left sticking out can get things caught on it and cause tears! Atharv is the protruding nail in the Vashist household, harmful to the already established respectability. Atharv is one nail that was never hammered in by his father Ramakant into the family!! now with Atharv s illness.. it is seen as the final nail in his coffin.. sadly. Strangely he suffers from cerebral Septicemia .. Symbolically his presence causes a life threatening inflammation in the Vashist household.. that threatens their survival. Suman cannot bear his or his mother's presence. The pair spread poison in her life. Bitter poison of being robbed of her happiness by this Atharv Sujata!
Smoothing the ruffled feathers of his beloved Vividha for whom he lives and for whom he will not die just the once but a million times. He lectures her yet again.. that he sees love in her eyes for Ravish.. which at the moment stems from respect..he reiterates that's she never loved him initially.. it was a gradual transformation.. he appeals to her for the same.. give time to herself and in time she will realize how this respect she feels for Ravish will change into love! Atharv realizes she was not in the mood to listen to his same old prattle, but to Atharv it means to confront her ,and by the floods of her tears gains strength in his stance that what he is doing undercover will be the right thing for her.His Vividha needs guaranteed long term happiness and not a short term dream of falling in love ,marrying him, loving him, and one fine day realizing that she has to walk ahead alone in the journey of life... hamlet53 20.2.17
