Okay, lame. But anyhoo, I'm here, albeit super late!
1. Kartik - Swarna
Kartik was fretting over what to do for his very first Valentine's with Naira. He had to make it special, didn't he? How adorable was he when he kept calling Naira, while simultaneously trying to put a plan in place for their special day together! He desperately wanted to reach out to Naira and in his excitement, he did not pay heed to what the day actually meant to Naira. It was when Swarna very smartly reminded Kartik about Naira's last day in the Singhania House in the guise of talking to Luv Kush that reality dawned on him. 'Woh so thodi na rahi hogi, ro rahi hogi.'
2. The realisation dawns
Naira sat in her room, trying with all her might to be okay, to feel okay, to convince herself that this was a happy day. But she was only left with a hollowness - a void that would never be filled. It was her last day in her house, she was leaving their daughter and would only return as someone else's daughter-in-law. How simply she was leaving herself exposed to her mother? She confessed to her mother - she knew Kartik, she trusted him, she loved him, yet this was hard for her. How painful it must have been for her mother to leave her family for an unknown man. Naira was at her most vulnerable, only needing her mother to guide her, to tell her that it would all be better.
3. Kaisi reet hai shaadi ki? Jaha anjan log apne ho jaate hai aur apne peeche choot jaate hai.
I loved, loved this dialogue by Naira. It's so true, right? We live our whole lives or at least a good 25 years with our parents, our siblings and then one fine day, we have to leave everything behind and start afresh. We're not only leaving our childhood behind, we're leaving the love of our grandparents, the pampering of our parents, the teasing of our siblings, we're even leaving our surnames behind. It was so painful to watch that scene, when everyone reminisced their association with Naira. I don't tear up watching Hindi shows - but seeing that and realising that I too was going to be in that position soon was scary. Family really is everything. How Devyani recollected Naira's naming ceremony - I still remember they had a whole song and dance and the then newest member in the family, Devyani named Naira. How Naitik said when Naira entered the family, he knew Papa had got his Princess. How Naksh did that 'oooii' so characteristic of kid Naksh and said that he was going to take care of his little sister. How they got a cut out of Akshara so that the family photograph would be complete. It truly was beautiful. And when Naira (she looked stunning!) said goodbye to every single corner of that house the next morning, I really felt crushed - Damn, it must be so hard, leaving behind your family, your home, even if you're going to be with the person you love.
This episode was beautiful and so emotional, as I knew it would be.
