It's amazing how one scene can showcase a multitude of moods and emotions, all perfectly blending into and flowing from each other. That was today's NaiRan scene. Those 3-4 minutes portrayed every aspect of their relationship till now.
Starting with Karan eating "Lunch" at 7:30 in the evening in his room and Naina curiously questioning him about it. She is genuinely puzzled by the man she calls her husband. Her questions weren't intrusive or hurtful, just simple curiosity. And then Karan retorts by asking her if she had lunch and if she was full and she thought he was trying to make conversation. Oh Naina, you fall for it everytime. 😆 Karan then smoothly said Phir mera dimaag kyun kha rahi ho. Ouch! Karan leads 1-0. 😆
Then Nirmala comes into the room and asks Naina to keep her stuff in the cupboard. The look Naina gives Karan is very telling. She knows he won't like the idea and tries to brush it off. Nirmala insists and tells Karan Thodi jagah do Naina ko. Such a poignant statement! He needs to give her a little place in his life and she will enrich it.
Back to the scene, Karan being Karan can't refuse his mother and says yes. Nirmala informs them about the pag phera and leaves. Since she has got Karan's acceptance, Naina moves to the cupboard but Karan stops her. Tum jhoot nahi bol sakti thi ki rakh rahi ho. Besharam ho, dheet ho. Pehle room mein aayi, phir bathroom use kiya, Pata nahi aur kahaan kahaan jagah chahiye tumhe! Exactly what Karan is scared of. She demands space in his room, his life, his thoughts. Something he is scared to give anyone.
Moving on, Naina now knows exavtly how to deal with him. She says ki khud to kuch kaha nahi, phir main kyun jhoot bolun? Bang on Naina.😆 Then she threatens him ki haan main besharam aur dheet hun aur samen se hato nahi to mujhe tumhe choona padega! What a brilliant threat Naina! Iske baad to Karan will run a mile. Its equal at 1-1. 🤣
How grudgingly did Karan remove his clothes! And when he left his undergarments and she was like ye tohfa kiske liye choda hai, he was so embarrassed! Aww Karan, you poor baby! 🤣
Then comes the moment of the episode. Karan in a neutral voice says suno, kal tumne mujhe blanket di, aaj mere liye afternoon main khane ki tray leke aayi... And Naina's face just lit up. You could see hope kindling in her. It was so painfully beautiful! She is really hoping for one gesture, one word of kindness from him and she will cross oceans for him. But obviously that was not to be when he said, ye sab karke ye mat sochna ki maine tumhe apni patni maan liya hai aur tum yahaan reh sakti ho. Main pag phere mein nahi jaunga aur tum jakar vapas mat aana. Aww, Naina's expressions were sooo heartbreaking!!! 💔 Poor Baby! Karan won 2-1.
They are in such a conundrum. Naina can tease him, get angry with him, but at the end of the day cares for him and hopes for one sign of friendship, one gesture of acceptance. Karan notices every kind thing she has done for him but is unwilling to let her in. What a messy situation!
Eleswhere, I like how everything Naina does, like tasting dishes today, is after Sharda tells her to. It makes sense to me that Naina would actually not think these things on her own because she is the younger sister. It would never cross her mind unless she was specifically asked. Also, Sandhya must be wondering ye kahaan se behne le aaye hain. That day Meghna interrupted her and today Naina did! Bechari apna sentence hi nahi khatam kar paati. 🤣
