Although there is no comparison because both have completely different subjects: One is sports and the other is about dyslexis. However, both comes to the same conclusion, never lose hope, there are different methods to achieve the goal when you have people with different mind.

In any case, with all the awards coming up, definitely the tough competition would be between CDI and TZP for the best movie.

Which movie deserves the best movie award. My choice is TZP because the subject is very original, it is not an autobiography therefore, there was no role model. Lots of research and reading was required to come up with new teaching methods for dyslexia child. Ofcourse, we cannot ignore the fact that Darsheel and Aamir were the best and showed a great chemistry.

I didn't pick CDI because it is based upon Mir Ranjan Negi so already have a role model and the story, you just need to add some twists to make this up the story. Ofcourse SRK and the girls were good but not better than TZP actors.

What do you guys think?

The selling point for CDI was only SRK -- Had the film been made with another (not so famous) actor, it would have been a different scenario. So taking SRK was the right choice - from Box Office collection stand point. But you have to ask yourself this - was the story original? Could someone else have done the same job, if not, better (ok... all you SRK fans.. just calm down)? 😆 And without SRK, could this film have worked on the main stream?

Moving away from CDI - lets talk about TZP. To give a child (with no TV/movie background) story complete attention on a disablity speaks volums in itself. Aamir Khan, who is an international face, made a directorial debute and sidelined himself to make room for a child artist -- WOW!! Highly commandable! He understood the subject and new exactly how to portray it. Everyone knew his talent and capability but this gift of being a storyteller came as a wonderful surprise. My only regrat was - why didn't he take this role up sooner? 😉 After seating through the film, without moving a muscle, I found myself asking just one question -- Wasn't this better than Lagaan? And I'm still asking that question. Yes, they are two different subjects. A period film vs. a child with disability... But the common factor was Aamir Khan production. The first film won almost all Indian award and came close to winning the Oscor.. Now the latter will win (hopefully) in all the right catagories and do the justice once again.

For me, Taara will remain as a film that brought me my youth back. And I will always a forever love the song - Meri Maa... 😳

I would say TZP deserves the best movie award. See I feel like I've watched similar movies to CDI, but very few that strike you with such emotion and such wonderous story-telling such as TZP. TZP stood on Darsheel's shoulders for the most part, and did he carry the film with such deligence and strength or what? It is very rare that we see, a child artiste being in the spotlight than, adults, and to depict it in such a way is beautiful. On the other hand, the Chak de girls had strong character but their acting did not impress me too much. At the same time, I also feel Guru stands as a strong competitor for TZP. And like others, I too wonder why Aamir did not venture into prodcution/directing earlier? I look foward to see his next movies now!!

Keep smiling..

Love
