Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshis Jolly LLB 2 has hit the screens and looks like the film is off to a great start. The film was one of the most awaited movies this year and with a star like Akshay being a part of it, people obviously flocked to the theatres to watch it. With occupancies ranging from 40 to 60 per cent across India, looks like Jolly LLB 2 is on its way to have a great weekend and trade expects the movie to earn Rs 12 crore on the first day easily. Our trade expert - Amul Mohan (Editor of Super Cinema) had also pointed out the same to us in an exclusive interview today.
During the exclusive chat, Amul revealed to us, "The buzz around Jolly LLB 2 is great. I guess it will open to a day one collection of Rs 11 crore. It has started off decently and with Akshay Kumar coming back after a phenomenal year, I guess it will open on the same wavelengths like his other films did in 2016. So Rs 11 crore is what I feel the film will make today, but it could be Rs 10 crore or Rs 12 crore or more depending on the content." Released in nearly 3000 screens, people have loved Jolly LLB 2. While the critics have mixed opinion about the movie, the public review has been really decent. People have really liked the story, the message and Akshay Kumar's acting in the film. With a strong word of mouth publicity, we are sure Jolly LLB 2 will grow over the weekend and earn about Rs 40-45 crore at the end of the first weekend.
As our trade expert - Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) had revealed to us earlier, "I think on day 1, Jolly LLB 2 will make a bare minimum of Rs 13-14 crore. Could be Rs 15 crore too. And over the weekend, if it does carry a good word of mouth publicity as the promos indicate, I won't be surprised to see it earn Rs 45-50 crore.
