But why did he wake up suddenly and even before his head came off the pillow he opened his eyes to look at krishna then sat up and looked up at krishna saying why does she keep starting at me, especially considering she was staring at him from the time she came into the room till 2 second before he woke up. Seems like he wasn't actually really asleep because if that was the case he wouldn't have said why does she keep staring at me straight away. That must definitely mean he wasn't full asleep and must have noticed her sat up staring at him for a while before going to sleep, that's why he must have woke up as soon as he saw her doze off and ask himself why does she keep looking at him. The timing was too perfect for him too wake up and him mentioning her staring habit at that time.

I think that's so cute. I also think it is interesting how baby noticed his defensive and protective behaviour towards krishna and even said that he has fallen in love with her but himself doesn't realise it because of everything he has been through. That means deep down he does have feelings for krishna, but probably needs a an incident to trigger him that will allow us to see his real emotions.
