Everything was cleared. The Kapors was were finally exposed and arrested, peace had returned to the Mansion after several days. He and Tia were separated for the public.
He had her beside, safe and sound, how he had gone insane on the thought of almost losing her. He had fought with her & pushed her just for Tia's eyes but she had fallen from the stairs and had a serious head injury. How he had freaked out when she failed to recognise him first. She couldn't recover most of the memories post Janmashtami. The Oberoi kids and Sahil had acted out most of the incidents from then to revive some of her memories. But their private moments, their feelings were all forgotten.Although initially hesitant, she had agreed to trust him, had worked with him to expose Mrs Kapoor and her daughters.
But something was bothering her now. Om had brought in an advice for him. 'Give her the choice' What did that even mean, he wondered.
"Shivaay, you had forced her into this marriage, blackmailed, harassed and insulted her into this. You had even misjudged her character and accused her of the weirdest things. You took her life's decisions all the time. Yes, you had saved her multiple times, you even took a bullet for her. But why was she even targeted at the first place, because she stood with you, without any recognition of being your wife. She was hurt, insulted and ridiculed by everyone here. Morever she doesn't remember all those things which made her stay inspite of everything.Now, It should be her choice Shivaay whether to stay in this marriage or not. Whether to receive the title of Anika Shivaay Singh Oberoi or not. It should be her choice, this time. I can't see her becoming like Ma"
He couldn't make his mind to do such a thing, what if she rejected him. She was Anika, she loved people for what they are rather than what their koon or kandaan. She recognised him as SSO who had done so many horrible things to her. Omkara didn't want her to become like his Mom, it made comparison between him & his ruthless Uncle, he flinched, was he that bad? Maybe, and maybe she hated and resented him too. "She will leave me" he whined. "Let her" Omkara mercilessly replied.
He had pictured it, but it was nothing compared to reality. When she had took the choice to leave, it had snatched the entire ground beneath him. She was going, leaving him, forever.
She would get flashes of her past every time something similar happened, but certain things were still missing."Did I love him?"she wondered. Sahil had her told so, "how can I love him, I can't" she reasoned. She could remember vaguely how she had confessed her love to Sahil & and earlier to an unconscious Shivaay. But she found it difficult to connect or remember the feelings again.
She was indeed happy that her Devars had thought for her, her choice, her independence. Even Rudra gave her consent to leave, "Bhabhi nahi toh Didi rahengi na". She couldn't stop her tears when they hugged her tight. Dadi was not yet ok with the fact there was another separation happening in the family post Tej Uncle's & Jhanvi aunty's. But everyone had somehow convinced her needs, and even she had somehow agreed.
He was finding it difficult to mask his emotions, he looked hurt and tortured. She came down the stars wearing a navy blue kurti which ended an inch above the ground. She had pinned a red printed shawl on one side. Her hair left loose in soft curls. But the vermillion in her hair parting and the nuptial chain on her neck was missing. Omkara & Rudra helped her to bring the luggage down. And all three of them walked towards the exit. Post the divorce, Jhanvi had started an event management business, all the younger Oberois & Anika had stood behind her, to rebuild her life and career. Om wanted Anika to join them.
As she walked out, he felt his vision failing. It was hard to breathe and he felt as if someone was constantly punching on his chest. He was finding it too difficult to cope with OmRu's absence in the Mansion, and she knew it. She had been seeing the vulnerable, exhausted and scared Shivaay Singh Oberoi from the past few nights. He was guilty of hurting her, terrified on the thought of being left alone, physically and mentally drained by all the chaos that were going on. Still she chose to abandon him, "I'm must be such a terrible man" he thought.
She ran to him hugged him tight, and sobbed onto his shoulders. Before he could react, she turned back and walked out. "Anika" He uttered somehow through his dry throat. She stepped back without turning and extended that sacred thread back to him. He felt slapped.
"Anika, you can't go"
"Why can't I"
"Because...Because I can't...I need you"
"Not enough Shivay, I can't go on like this being your zaroorat and zimmedari...tell me another reason.
"Kyunki..Tum meri..biwi ho!!
"Finally Shivaay...itna late hogayi, phir bhi apne bol toh diya... I was not crying out for your acceptance, ham pati patni kabhi nahi ban sakti, I'm leaving"
She hoped him to respond, but she heard nothing. She turned back to see him gone. She didn't know what to do. She was confused and angry. She didn't want to trap him in an unhappy marriage and neither did she want to become another Jhanvi Singh Oberoi. She couldn't even think of letting her children go through what all Om and siblings went through. He wouldn't ever accept her as such.
The pain was escalating and he fell on the ground, somehow he dragged himself to the side table. And popped in a few pills. She came and sat on the floor next to him. She gently ruffled his messed up hair.
"Shivaay"
"You should go, Om is right...you should leave me, I'm bad.
"Shivaay meri baat.."
"Nahi tum jao...mein bahut bura ho, I don't deserve you..I don't deserve anything"
He kept on mumbling this and that, while she tried to calm him down.
"I was not being selfish..but..it was for you, Om, everyone..I'm sorry..don't go leaving me alone" He cried. She could see his hand clutching onto his chest as it pained.
"Tike me nahi javungi, Shivaay yahaan dekho"
She couldn't leave this man. She would be angry on him, fight with him, ignore him but she couldn't leave him like this and go. She couldn't leave him to die. And she wouldn't be able to forget the dotting husband he played in the initial day her of her memory loss, fussing over her every single need. She had fallen in love with him again and realised it now.
She would definitely join Badi Ma's business and will never leave her career back, but she can do that from here too. She had decided she never allow Pinky Oberoi to insult her and that she wouldn't sacrifice his & her own happiness for others anymore. He had always lived for his family and she will live for him and her dreams from now on.
Anika lovingly caressed his hair and placed a soft kiss on his forehead. And the great Shivaay Singh Oberoi slept like a baby on her lap.
"Anika..mat jao...marjaunga..bahut pyaar karti ho"
Tears flowing she held him tight.
"Kabhi nahi"
I don't know why this happened. 😆 😆
I hadn't planned this. But these spoilers made me write this (AniRu made us pappu). Not a fine piece, but still, give your views please.
