Hello guys, sorry for updating this chapter so late...had a busyweek in office..Thanks Thabs for reminding me..i had forgotten tht i had only given the teaser and not the chapter!!

Part 6:

Before she could answer, Shaurya got up from his seat and stood next to her.

Shaurya: I am sure Ms. Sharma has some wonderful ideas. She always has, right? I mean since your ISC days, you have always been boasting about your innovative recipes and what not. So lets hear them out Ms. Sharma.

Mehak did have some ideas and she had decided to give her inputs as well in the meeting. However, Mehak still faced the phobia of speaking in public and with him around, it was making her all the more uncomfortable. Alok too knew how Mehak would get uncomfortable talking in public and hence he would always encourage her to be more open and relaxed.

Sensing Mehak's uneasiness, Alok pitched in: Mehak, you had already given your idea yesterday when we spoke in the kitchen. We will work on it after the meeting. Ok?

Mehak nodded and thanked him. They didn't have any such discussion yesterday and she knew that he was saying so to save her from Shaurya's wrath.

Mehak was about to sit when Shaurya spoke angrily: Why Ms. Sharma? Is it a secret that you will share it with Alok and not the others? We aren't going to steal your recipes. You know very well that we give all our chefs their due credit for all the efforts that they put in here at the hotel. So start talking! And Alok, stop saving their backs all the time. I don't want losers working for me. If they can't cope with the pressure of working here, they can simply leave. Nobody is holding a gun at their head and forcing them to work here.

The situation had become tensed in the room now. Alok looked at her and gestured her to relax and put forward her point. Shaurya too knew about Mehak's fear and he was deliberately using it against her now. Mehak prayed to her Mata Rani asking for strength and took a deep breath.

Mehak: Hmm I had thought of Matar ki kheer as one of the recipes. We could use the...

Shaurya didn't let Mehak complete her sentence.

Shaurya: Oh please Ms. Sharma, this is a five star hotel not your roadside dhaba so don't give such middle class ideas. I won't include something like that in my menu at all.

Mehak to herself: Relax Mehak its him not some monster. You know why he is doing this. Keep your calm. You know the recipe so well and you also know that how tasty it is. Just explain it properly and clearly. Don't look at him. Look at your friends and talk. Darna mat! Darna mat!!

Shaurya angrily: Are you even listening Ms. Sharma...If you want to use these dhabbewalle recipes, then stop working here.

All looked at Shaurya with surprise. They couldn't understand his anger towards Mehak. Everyone realized that Shaurya was unnecessarily targeting Mehak. But they couldn't do much about it. They really felt bad for her. Mehak decided to stand up for herself. He could try all the tricks in the book but she wouldn't give up now.

Mehak spoke with confidence: No Sir, I really enjoy working here and the dish that I am talking about has got nothing to do with being middle class. Believe me, it's really tasty and I am sure the customers would like it.
Shaurya: Believe you? What makes you think that I would?

Mehak gave it back to him: You are right Sir, you shouldn't have any reason to believe me but I could make the dish now and you can taste it. I guess then you can vote if you like it or not. There is no harm in trying once Sir.

She emphasized the "Sir part" louder for him to understand that she was not going to back down now. He could throw any challenge at her and she would excel in all of them just like she had done during her ISC stint.

Alok was happy seeing Mehak's confidence. He didn't want her to lose that spark now. Before Shaurya could interrupt her, Alok gestured Mehak to explain her recipe.

Mehak looked at him and smiled and continued explaining to her team how they could use the mixture of green peas and pistachio with milk to make it. The more she spoke, the more confident she grew. Even Shaurya was amazed with this newfound confidence of her.

Once she was done, her entire team clapped for her. She was overwhelmed with her team's response. She couldn't believe that she spoke so much at length without fumbling.

Alok: Amazing Mehak. Good. I will discuss this recipe with Rajeev Sir and Shaurya Sir and we will decide on it. Your explanation was very good. Keep it up.

All this appreciation that was showered on Mehak bothered him further. He stared at her with anger who was only engrossed in talking to her fellow colleague. She was smiling and that boiled him more.

Shaurya: Enough for the day. I think you can stop the session here Alok. A lot of time was wasted in forcing Ms. Sharma to talk. Get back to your work now.

All heaved a sigh of relief. It was already a torture for everyone sitting in the same room as Shaurya. They all bid Shaurya goodbye and left the room hastily fearing he would change his mind and ask them to sit back. Mehak was collecting her stuff and was about to leave when Shaurya spoke: Wait back Ms. Sharma

Mehak looked at him with no expression and only nodded. She kept on telling herself "Stay strong...Let him say whatever he wants just don't react".

After everyone had left the room, Shaurya came near Mehak and said: So Ms Sharma mere chhodne ka tumhe kuch toh faayda hua hai? Look at yourself...You were so confident. You should give me the credit. I have made you so strong.

Mehak said: Hmm yes sir...she said so looking at the wall behind him.

Shaurya fumed in anger: Stop giving those typical answers Ms. Sharma. Don't you have anything else to say? Aren't you angry with all those mean words that I said to you today in the meeting?

Mehak: No Sir, I don't have anything to say.

She said so with no expression on her face. Shaurya wanted her to say that she was angry or upset but her ignorance irritated him again.

Shaurya angrily: Enough of that nonsense attitude Mehak. What are you trying to prove with all this? Do you think I am getting affected with this attitude of yours?

Mehak simply looked down. She was really enjoying this. To distract herself from his taunts, she started singing her favorite song in her mind. She started singing "Main jhalli pataka hu pataka main pataka..." in her mind. She imagined herself dancing to the fast beats of the song. While she was imagining the song, she had a smile on her face uninterested in the fact that Shaurya was saying something to her.

Shaurya: You think you are too smart Ms. Sharma...bahut akkad hai tum main...what do you think of yourself? I can...

He looked at her. He realized that she wasn't paying attention to him at all. She was looking down and smiling which made him realize that all his rants fell on deaf ears.

Shaurya shouted: What the hell Mehak? I am talking to you and you are busy in your dreamland.

That brought Mehak back from her la la land to the present.

Mehak confidently: Sorry sir, may I leave now?

Shaurya: What if I say no?

Mehak: In that case, I will have to wait back Sir coz you are the boss and I have to follow your orders as I am your employee.

Shaurya angrily: Orders? Oh please Ms. Sharma...don't show this "loyal employee" attitude to me...ISC e waqt se jaanta hoon tumhe...kitne rules follow kiye the mere tumne jo ab karogi.

Mehak again kept quiet. She really wanted to get out of this room now. Firstly, she had a lot of work left in the kitchen to finish and secondly, it was getting very annoying for her to listen to Shaurya's taunts. He was still doing the same thing since the confession day - irritating her to evoke her reaction. She knew what was getting him so agitated- her attitude of not reacting to his jibes and taunts. She was putting on a brave face in front of him and was so proud of herself for that.

Just then Shaurya's secretary Riya knocked at the meeting door. Riya entered the room and said: Sir, Mr. Shah from Garcia Entertainment has come to meet you for a meeting. He is waiting at the reception for you.

He was so close to irritating Mehak and he knew she would have broken down any moment but her Maata Rani really favored a lot it seems. He failed every time he thought he won. He was so close to winning yet he lost. Shaurya nodded and signaled Riya to leave the room.

Shaurya angrily: Leave Ms. Sharma.

Mehak: Good day Sir.

She turned around and had just reached the door when she heard Shaurya's scream.

Shaurya: Ahhh...

She turned around to see what had happened. His hand had a big cut and had started to bleed.

Shaurya was angry and in a fit of rage, he banged his fist on the table not noticing that the side of the table had a nail poking out. There was a big cut on the side of his palm.

Shaurya: Damn!!!!.

Mehak looked at him. His hand was indeed bleeding. It pained her to see him in pain. She had just taken a step in his direction when Shaurya shouted angrily: Why are you still waiting? Didn't I ask you to leave? And you say that you follow my orders. Bloody show-off.

Mehak took a deep breath and left the room. Shaurya was shocked with her reaction. Had she really changed? Was she the same Mehak who was so madly in love with him? This reminded him of an incident during their courtship period.

Note : Did you guys see the new promo...apna Shaurie in blue suit...looking handsome and dapper as usual...I mean is der anything in this world tht this guy doesnt look good in!!!! Totally droolworthy!!!

Awesome Shristi .. just awesome .. he is trying to get a reaction of her .. but he is the one who is really agitated...
