I have to disagree. Too many people are under the impression that because maya has gone through so much she DESERVES love, but this is completely wrong. Due to everything maya has gone through she definitely deserves happiness and love, but does that mean she is more deserving of a man's love more than someone else just because of everything she has gone through even if her love for that person isn't pure and honest?
What i mean is that if out of insecurity and fears maya takes steps to keep arjun away from people he cares for or loves, does that mean she loves arjun unconditionally and truly? If she ultimately resorts to dirty tricks out of fear of losing arjun, does that make her love pure and honest? Also if she doesn't trust arjun's love for her enough that she feels the need to keep him close to her as possible and away from people she feels arjun may give priority and attention to other than maya, then that means that maya doesn't love or trust arjun as truly as she claims because trust is essential in any relationship.
Arjun knows wholly well all the turmoil and grievance maya has suffered, but does that mean that in future if maya starts to do blunders out of possessiveness for him and he no longer feels she is the maya he fell for, does that mean he has to stay with maya out of sympathy and acknowledgement of her painful past?
It is also up to maya to maintain the new relationships she is about to form with complete integrity, not just arjun to stick by her out of understanding and sympathy just because he knows about everything she has gone through. Relationships are like a scale and balance has to be maintained otherwise relationships are bound to fall apart.
If in future maya chooses to let her past and the fears and insecurities associated with it get the best of her and influence the way she chooses to go about her relationship with arjun and others, then i'm sorry to say but then arjun cannot be blamed in this instance as arjun can merely help her on the way of her healing process and getting over her past, but if her past gets the better of her then i can only sympathise with her but won't be able to say she DESERVES arjun's love, as that is dependent on her actions and how she goes about things, rather than looking at her past and saying she deserves love.
Arjun will no doubt try and help her heal and support her, but whether maya heals and moves on with life rather than be hung up in the past, or whether she chooses to let her insecurity turn into complete possessiveness for arjun will determine whether maya deserves or is destined for arjun's love.
