Sorry for the second topic but I couldn't help it after being overwhelmed seeing the scene between Uma and Vividha.

I started imagining my own mum speaking to me in the same manner but then I couldn't connect my mum and Uma because I know however regressive she may be in some manners, my happiness matters the most to her.

Seeing Uma at her manipulative best whilst Vividha was at her strongest best was such a contrasting image of both women.

The way she was telling her daughter 'No no, it's not the same as my situation. Ravish is a very good guy guy, he loves you. Don't break the marriage'.

Ok so Uma...what about the girl standing in front of you! Your own daughter? She's saying she loves Atharv. Like that means nothing to you AT ALL? If you want to talk about the sanctity of marriage then Vividha already gave you a slap regarding that and if you want the marriage to stick because ravish is a good guy then so is Atharv. What's your point? Vividha wishes Ravish finds a nice girl for himself who actually loves him!

Very very sad scene and I hope it was an eye-opener to some at least.

We knew it was coming and it was just as pathetic as we knew it would be.

Uma is probably the worst mother ever. She wants Vivi to stay with Ravish because he is nice. Forget the fact that her daughter will not be able to give him any happiness as she so clearly said. She keeps harping on about how Ravish loves Vividha but what about Vividha? Doesn't her heart and feelings count.

Or is it, that like most women, she has to suppress what she truly wants to keep her mother and society happy.

Uma conveniently forgot about her advice to ViVi. She indirectly said, her choosing KK over her boyfriend was a mistake (ViVi was naive that time and hence did not understand what Uma was trying to say).
she has taken a 180 now.. DISGUSTING is the lease I could say.

I kinda feel the chills in this scene.
I would never want to become a mom like uma and do that to my daughter.

Beta he loves u .he is a nice guy. But Wat about the daughter that doesn't love him back.

It's just useless to make butt heads like uma understand anything.all I feel is disgust. Not only for her. For su su too.

I just hugged my daughter for few mins and silently promised i ll make sure she ll get what she wishes for and what she deserves. Damn

You know best thing I found today in the episode...
Writers are exploring all the argument and counter arguments happen all over IF and twitter. They are showing, Mothers perspective as society's image and one by one will be solved.

Vividha already gave a closure to Ravish the other day and was doing ulta pheras. When Atharva kissed Vivi that Nod of ravish made him understand too Vitharv are it. He gave a much needed closure to himself as well as Vividha too.

I am sure Atharva and ravish will sort it out respectively with their mothers.

I just loved how Vivi answered back to Uma and she will definitely Explaing things to Atharva over a time bit by bit...imo.

ok i diverted a bit from the topic too..😃

Reemz i still have to watched the episode. But after reading wu & comments from IF members i wish god don't give mother like uma to girls. Uma proves to be a worst mother instead of supporting her daughter she wants Vivi to live in this loveless marriage b'coz Ravish is a nice guy.

But thank god i have a mother who always supported me in my ups & down in life & always encourage me to fulfill my dreams.😊

I'm glad you created a thread on this topic.

When Uma was speaking, i could hear echoes from my past. And i grew angrier by the second. Though i am all for the institution of marriage, but the one that's built on Love, trust and mutual respect.

Sadly, to this day, marriage means compromise and sacrifice to the majority of our women. I guess it's because this is the way they have been conditioned. They have been molded to think this way, and react a certain way. We are told from the very first day, beta, shadi hamesha compromise se chalti hai, aurat ko ziada sacrifice karna parta hai etc etc... THIS is exactly why we have such a high rate of hollow and unhappy marriages.

Uma is such a cruel representation of all the woman in our society. Tell the daughter to be quiet, behave a certain way, make the man happy - you'll eventually grow to love him.

Sad, Sad, Sad state of affairs. Give up your daughter's happiness for the happiness of others. Becasue hey, how else will someone call me Mahaan aurat and bahu. Because the test of a good bahu set by the society is how sacrificial and unhappy she is. How many peoples' happiness she'll sacrifice to make her so called husband happy even if there's no love there!

Uma, Suman and Sujata - make me sad, but at the same time show me glaring reality.

Saddest reality is that women is the enemy of other women.
