Today, when Khayti exaggerated the whole scene where Naina accidentally threw the drink on Karan, and alerted by Khayti's shouting, Sandhya, Nirmala and NK came out, as well - Karan didn't try to clarify the situation. He did, at first, when Khayti was shouting at Naina but his sister didn't really let him come to word. When the rest came out, he just turned away from them, especially when NK ranted at Sharda that, "Is this how my son will be treated here".
When Karan came back home, he was talking well with everyone but the moment he saw NK he took off. Didn't even say anything when his father threw insults at him. At another instance (when Khayti told Sandhya and Nirmala about their plans for a MeghNal date) Karan was approaching them but saw NK there and was about to retreat - though, NK left first.
Judging from this, I assume that the reason Karan did not speak up for Naina was that his father was present (and also, generally, it seems like people talk "over" him, hardly listening to what he has to say). Is it mere resentment? In that case, you'd expect him to be snarky, throw barbs at his father. But here toh, he doesn't even speak up when NK is in close proximity 🤔
Now, that's a backstory I am really curious about 😆
